So, you’re ready to do the deed and you want to be as safe as possible. Good for you! You just have one question: Is a condom enough? Sara’s got the answer and it’s a resounding, “Yes, but…” Probably not what you were hoping for, but it’s the truth. Sara’s got the skinny on condoms, how to use them effectively, and what else you can do to protect yourself when you do the deed.
What kind of protection do you use (or plan on using!) when you have sex? Tell us in the comments!

how do you know when it breaks ?
Oral sex is a serious busnseis. If you give a blow job to one guy you give oral sex to all his partners. There has been a trend where oral sex has been the way to go to preserve virginity. It will definitely preserve the Hymen but you are opening yourself and others up to STD’s.I have a friend whose step-sister just had her tongue removed because of a tumor. The cause: STD’s. To remove the tumor the Doctors opened her jaw by cutting through the front of her mouth, down her chin and down to her throat. Fourteen hours of surgery. They replace her tongue with muscle from her arm. The next day they realized that did not work so they went in for another 11 hour and removed muscle from her leg to replace the muscle from the day before. Not only will she be unable to speak but will have to go through major physiotherapy for her arm and leg. If all goes well she will be speaking somewhat understandably with in 2 years. My friend say it is bad. Real bad. She is not sure if it could be worst. Is it worth it?
I just shove a tampon in as far as I can get it. I wind the string around my finger and push that in too.
If a guy complains I just tell him that’s the best he’s gonna get.
Roseanne, that’s probably not the safest thing to do! You probably risk getting TSS that way!
I’m glad to see a video on this topic, however, I’m not a big fan of how Sara emphasizes latex only. While I know latex condoms are the only kind proven to protect from STDs, some of us gurls are allergic to latex. I’m mildly allergic to them, not to the point where it stops me from using them, but I know people (including my mom and best friend), that are quite irritated by them. I use a combination of the pill and condoms. Also, I insist that my partners are tested for STDs before we engage in intercourse. Yeah, some guys may take issue with that, but if they won’t get tested then I’m not having sex with them. Not worth the risk. And if they truly cared about me, they’d get tested. My boyfriend and I are both STD-free and we are very careful about sex. We always use a condom, whether latex or skin. I’ve also NEVER missed a pill while I was dating someone I was intimate with. Unfortunately, a lot of girls have a hard time remembering to take their pill on time. They need to find a better contraception option. But I must say, with the Implanon birth control, the one that you put in your arm, it can cause horrible scarring when its removed. Yet it is an option. But there are plenty of options, such as the patch, female condoms, IUDs, the Nuva Ring, Cervical caps, the shot, etc. Basically, there are too many ways to be safe to risk it. BE SAFE EVERYBODY! Lol. And enjoy yourselves
what does it feel like when a condom breaks?
i just use hormonal bc I have the implant implanon and we don’t use condoms since we are in a monogamous relationship so no need for condoms
When I’m preventing pregnancy (which is not always… as I’m adult, married, and am about to have my third very planned baby)… I use the Fertility Awareness Method… and when I’m in a fertile phase of my cycle, I used a diaphragm. I am personally not keen at all on any form of hormonal birth control, or anything that has to be “implanted” inside my body on a semi-permanent basis.
I’m glad to be in a stable relationship where we can forgo condoms… however, teenagers and those who are not in long-term, stable, monogamous relationships should ALWAYS use condoms. Either by themselves or in conjunction with another method. Primary reason… prevention of STDs and STIs. STAY SAFE!
