We’re all about body positivity here are Gurl, which is why we think that Meghan Trainor‘s song “All About The Base” is totally dope. Trainor tells it like it is: You can still be a confident gal even if you aren’t a size two. Yep, whether you’ve got curves, some serious junk in the trunk, love handles for miles, thunder thighs for days or all of the above, that’s no reason to feel like you can’t see yourself as beautiful and desirable.

Sure, some of the lyrics can be interpreted as body shaming people who are on the thinner side, true. We’re not down with that. But the fact is that larger bodies are still depicted as undesirable anomalies in our society compared to thinner ones. This is a great confidence booster for those of you who are sick of feeling less than just because you’ve got a lil’ more body to work with. Check it out!

No…..all this large body glorifying is not good. So many in our society are obese and unhealthy. We should be encouraging people to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight. Instead we have songs like this saying ‘dont worry about your size’. This is a bad and dangerous trend. If you are obese you SHOULD worry about your size. Being overweight is unhealthy and unattractive despite what Megan Trainor sings.

Why don’t they just make a song that love and accept all body types? Skinny, fat, medium sized, short, tall. I’m so sick of this either you are on one side of the other thing being a big girl isn’t bad neither is being a skinny girl, as long as you are in good health. as a petite girl i get comments about how “small and skinny” i am and how i need to “gain weight” and i can’t help it i am just naturally small. i think all sizes are beautiful and should be accepted, neither sizes should point the finger or take shots at the other. i would love to “gain weight a be bigger” just like maybe there are some bigger girls out there who would “love to be smaller”. it seems like a lot of people want what other people have, and its hard to be happy and accept who you are sometimes when you have sides going at it or against each other. but i can see how the video is accepting of bigger girls to be proud because society are usually just always using smaller models as the ideal of beauty, but personally i think all sizes are beautiful, and at the end of the day its about the person within.
