Attention all you lucky trick-or-treaters whose best day of the year hasn’t be ruined by Hurricane Sandy, this is for you–a guide to trading your candy so you wind up with the best Halloween candy.

When I was younger, 364 days a year were spent trying to get my younger brother to trade me his dimes for my nickles and one precious day a year was spent trying to get him to trade me his fun-size Milky Ways for my Mike & Ikes. I was pretty successful. Over the years, I’ve embezzled about $12.35 from that kid and roughly four million calories. (One year our neighbor just left a barrel of king-size candy bars on his stoop. We went crazy…and then I went crazier stealing them from him convincing him to trade them over to me.)

Anyway, what I’m saying is if this instructional video existed when I was in my trick-or-treating heyday, my brother wouldn’t have ever even known what a Milky Way tasted like. And I’d probably be 15 pounds heavier. Would have been WORTH IT!

In your opinion, what’s the best Halloween candy? Are your Halloween plans affected by Sandy? Let me know in the comments.

HAHAHA one of my favorite parts of Halloween is the obligatory candy trade afterward. There is nothing like getting snickers and kit kats for sour patches, which I despise but my brother loves.

Guess I’ll have to wait until Monday though :/ No Halloween for me!
