Jay Leno may be retiring from The Tonight Show, and there’s been a ton of talk lately about who may or may not replace him. So far the front runner appears to be Jimmy Fallon, who we absolutely love. But why not any funny ladies in Leno’s seat?

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite hilarious femmes who we think could easily do as well, if not better, that the most famous chin in America. And believe us, there were a lot to pick from, and it was hard to narrow this list down. Our criteria to do so: Not only should she be funny, but she should be inspiring and a cheerleader for the rest of us–and obviously, she’d have to be able to be clean enough for network TV!

If anyone ever uses the whole “women aren’t funny” argument around you, feel free to whip out YouTube clips of these hysterical gals to shut them up immediately. And also know that they are ignorant and idiotic. Because they are. And now, with no further adieu, our favorite laughter-inducing ladies!

Okay, okay–we know it’s two of them! But we’d love for them to co-host together, because we adore them both and both of their series, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, are ending soon. They’re hosting the Golden Globes together, so why not keep that ball rolling?

We’re obsessed with The Mindy Project and with Kelly Kapoor on The Office. Since the latter is coming to an end, why not fill some of that time with the same charm she used in her book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? She’s just so lovable aside from being funny. She’s real. We dig that here.

You’ve probably seen and laughed really hard at Jessica on TV before–she’s been on every imaginable show a comic can nab a spot on–and it’s about time she got her own time to shine. You can check her out on YouTube, but you might want to grab a diaper first, because you may well pee your pants laughing.

You think Wanda Sykes would let celeb guests get away with anything? Think again. Aside from being super funny and not taking anyone’s crap, Wanda is fiercely smart and vocal about LGBT issues. We absolutely love her!

Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers was on the of the “permanent guest hosts” of The Tonight Show and an absolute pioneer for women in comedy. She paved the way for the rest of the females on this list! We doubt she’ll ever retire, but if she does, we’d love for it to be from one of the ultimate comedy benchmarks. Though she’s outspoken (she’s badmouthed Jay Leno himself, and we’re not a fan of the body shaming she occasionally does on Fashion Police), she’s necessary. She’s refreshing. And heck, she’s earned it.

This is as scary as The Walking Dead bikini calendar gets. WTF is the point? | Source: YouTube

Full disclosure: I’m a pretty rabid fan of The Walking Dead. I read the comics and kept up with all the zombies religiously. You know how it comes on twice in a row? I watch it twice in a row, then cozy up for Talking Dead right after. I live-tweet it. I turn off my phone when it’s on. I analyze the writing with pals. I have the board game. I want to own a katana. I always fill my gas tank in case of an outbreak of zombies. I trained myself to run faster; I have superior aim and survival skills. Now that it’s on a mid-season hiatus until February, I’m more than content to hibernate through Christmas and New Year’s until then–since I know there’s no threat of zombies attacking.

That said, when I heard there was a Walking Dead themed bikini calendar, even though I’m a straight chick, I figured it’d be pretty interesting. I pictured zombies in bikinis, basically, which would be sort of creepy and hilarious at the same time–think the bicycle chick in swimwear.

Except it’s none of those things at all.

In a behind-the-scenes look at the bikini calendar’s creation, it’s just a bunch of regular bikini calendar shots–except the girls have flesh wounds. They’re not “walkers” (as the zombies are called in the show), they’re not survivors–they’ve clearly been bitten, so they wouldn’t survive for long. They’re just scantily clad and bleeding. Does anyone else see an issue with this?

There are no zombies in sight at all in the calendar, nor are there camps, weapons, storage, ragtag militias. There’s just bloody girls in bikinis, lying around in no apparent agony. Where are all the walkers who bit them? Why do they look so calm? They’re on the beach–can zombies swim? If not, why aren’t there shots of them fashioning a raft, luring them to the ocean with a 20-piece box of chicken nuggets, and then racing back to land to grab crossbows? How did they get rug burn from sand? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.

Most importantly, where are Michonne and Daryl Dixon in all this? If we want to talk about sexy ass kicking scenes with zombies, you can’t beat these two fan favorites. But you can definitely beat this calendar. Seriously. It’s more useless than Lori Grimes in season 2.

How will we survive the zombie apocalypse without these?!

Here are the top five (fictional) guys I’d date if given the chance . . . shhh, don’t tell my boyfriend!

1. Smith Jerrod, Sex and The City
Just to point out the obvious, this guy is THE SEX. He has got to be the hottest guy any of the “Core Four” ever dated. I mean really, Harry and Mr. Big? What are you gals thinking? Anyways, the best part is that he isn’t just hot. He is so devoted to the previously promiscuous Samantha that he SHAVES HIS HEAD FOR HER when she has cancer! I know I wasn’t the only one happy crying during that episode. The fact that he was able to lock down the legendary sexaholic speaks volumes about him in more ways that one. Also, with his hot actor name and his sexy as hell Absolut campaign, we can easily forget that he used to be a waiter named Jerry.

2. Hercules, Disney’s Hercules
Let’s just start out with the HE’S A GOD factor when it comes to Hercules. He has super human strength, and a super human capacity for L-O-V-E. This dude tops the charts when it comes to doing what it takes to woo the woman he loves. Like, really, first he rescued Meg from the evil centaur Nessus and then he saved the entire universe from the villainous (but hysterical) Hades. He sings, he rides Pegasus, he went from Zero to Hero and offered his soul in exchange for freeing his gal from the River Styx—seriously, what DOESN’T this guy do? Plus, if you are his girlfriend, you get to live at Mt. Olympus. Win.

3. Patrick Verona, 10 Things I Hate About You
One long look into the deep hazel eyes of Patrick Verona makes us forget that this guy only started dating Kat as part of a shady, money-making scam. Put aside the rumors of his jail sentence and focus on the unforgettable scene where this bad ass Aussie sings “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” to his main squeeze while dancing/running from cops on the school bleachers. He is amazingly sexy, upfront with his feelings and an all around cool guy. Also he is Heath Ledger so . . . yeah. I mean really, who wouldn’t flash a teacher to get Patty V. out of detention??

4. Peeta Mellark, The Hunger Games
Hey girl, you like bread? Peeta’s got all of the hot (and purposely burned) bakery bread that you could ask for when you’re starving and sitting in the rain. He is handsome as hell and willing to sacrifice it all for the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately for us, that girl is Katniss Everdeen, but hey, we can still dream! Besides the fact that he was willing to die to let Katniss win the Hunger Games, he also can throw heavy bags of sand, he can paint like a pro, and he shines like a star when he’s in the spotlight. All I can say is that I’d take bread from Peeta any day.

5. Noah Calhoun, The Notebook (Duh)
Whether you like him young, optimistic and clean-shaven, or in his depressed, mountain-man days–Noah is inarguably one of the sexiest and greatest fictional boyfriends to ever exist in the pages of a book or on a television screen. I mean really, what else do you want? This guy’s main ambition in life is to build you a perfect lakeside mansion so that you can paint sans clothing on any balcony that you like. Not to mention, he is hard-working and the Master of the grand gesture. From hanging off a Ferris wheel, to lying in the middle of the street, to writing 365 letters before Gmail . . . all I can say is WHERE ARE THE MEN LIKE THIS HIDDEN?

Maybe it’s because when I was a kid, these shows actually kind of scared me a little, and now they don’t (usually). Or maybe it’s because they’re just all around awesome. Boy Meets World

What I wouldn’t give for some new episodes of Boy Meets World. It was such a perfect, silly show. Look at Cory thinking he’s a werewolf. It’s too freakin’ cute.

Lizzie McGuire

I’m really happy for Hilary Duff with her new baby and husband and everything, but can we please go back in time and have her be Lizzie McGuire again? I’m loving her adorable clown costume here.

Bewitched

This is seriously old school – but what doesn’t scream Halloween like a show about a witch does? Bewitched is a classic… you can’t go wrong! I’m obsessed with all of these old costumes, too.

Rugrats

Who hasn’t had a pretend camping trip in their bedroom complete with a fire? And also, who hasn’t known a kid who calls lightening “frightening”? I mean, it’s pretty much the perfect word.

Friends

Why Chandler agreed to wear a pink bunny costume I will never understand… but this clip is such a great example of why this show is amazing.

My So-Called Life

I love young Claire Danes. She’s so cool and chill and I want to be her best friend. Just one question about this episode: has anyone else ever shaved their legs in the school bathroom? Didn’t think so.

Hey Arnold

I love how the guys in Hey Arnold are just hanging out, eating snacks and telling ghost stories (obviously, Arnold’s is the best). It’s totally something we’ve all done with our friends.

Berenstain Bears

This brings back some serious childhood memories right now. I mean, okay, this isn’t scary at all, but it’s still worth a watch. And if you never read Berenstain Bears… I’m sorry.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch

Even though every episode of Sabrina was kind of like Halloween, this Halloween one is particularly spooky. I wish I was a witch. Life would be so much cooler.

Family Matters

Steve’s puppet is literally the creepiest part of this episode – because puppets are scary, okay? Also, I want to carve my pumpkin just like the one in the beginning of this video.

Blossom

Watch the very beginning of this – here lies the reason why most dudes get their butts out of bed, put on a costume and celebrate Halloween. Maybe that’s not fair. But it’s kind of true.

Doug

This might not be the best quality, but who cares? It’s Doug! We all like to catch up on some old-school Doug, am I right?

The Cosby Show

I know I can’t be the only ones who miss the Cosby family in this show. Also, I need Rudy’s pumpkin costume for myself. How cute is it?!

Fat Albert 

This is another seriously old-school show, but that’s exactly what makes it totally worth watching. I feel like sometimes the oldest Halloween things are the best Halloween things.

Even Stevens

Who else misses this adorable, goofy Shia LaBeouf? I mean, look at him now. Look at him. It’s tragic.

Sister Sister 

After watching this, I now want someone to have a pumpkin carving contest with. Any takers?

One quote sums up the article, “They don’t go on diets or have liposuction to fit into red-carpet outfits; they let out a seam.” No one is letting out any seams, it’s like the media doesn’t know designers and clothing stores ACTUALLY make clothing in sizes larger than 4. How screwed up is it that these girls with rocking bodies are regarded as abnormal in Hollywood?

Johnny Depp is going from Jack Sparrow to William Shakespeare. | Source: WENN

Is Johnny Depp trading his Mad Hatter role for Macbeth? The eccentric, eclectic, and somehow ageless movie star is developing a TV series based on all of Shakespeare’s plays.

Details on the show are still murky, but so far we know this: The show will be a scripted series that gives a “modern take” on Shakespeare’s works, intertwining plots, characters, and story lines from each. So we’re thinking we’ll get to see, say, Tybalt sparring with Iago (or teaming up with him–a real axis of evil right there!) or maybe Romeo making out with Ophelia in a moment of weakness.

It’s unclear exactly what kind of role Johnny Depp will have in the project, as it’s still in development, but as a producer, his name will be all over this. We’re hoping he’ll guest star in at least a few episodes–or, you know, take on every single romantic lead role (we can dream).

Johnny Depp’s project will be the latest in a long line of Shakespeare adaptions for TV and movies–remember 10 Things I Hate About You (based on The Taming of the Shrew) and Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo in William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet? On a more recent note, some could say Sons of Anarchy is essentially based on Hamlet, just with motorcycles and leather instead of swords and poison.

We think Johnny Depp would be a pretty badass (and beautiful!) Hamlet, but we’d love to see him in a villain role, too. No one ever roots for Iago in Othello, but what if he were played by the same dude who made Captain Jack Sparrow a household name? Or a meddling, douchebag Polonius? Though since he’s got a production credit–and producers run stuff–maybe he’ll take on Prospero from The Tempest. The possibilities are pretty endless–and pretty freakin’ exciting!

There are plenty of hot guys on TV (hello, Ed Westwick), but this week, someone much younger caught my eye – Nolan Gould, the adorable boy who plays mischievous Luke on Modern Family. Some might say that my TV crush this week might be a little inappropriate – he is only 13-years-old, of course. So let’s just say I wish he was my little brother rather than I have an actual crush on him. That sounds better.

Sure, Nolan was hysterical in both of the episodes of Modern Family that aired last night (I love this new super-scheming Luke). And, yeah, he’s funny and adorable in every episode of the show. But what really made my heart warm with joy was something Nolan did, not something Luke did: he managed to graduate high school at the age most people are just entering high school.

How? I’m not sure. Apparently, the kid is pretty much a genius. You would never know it based on his character – one of my favorite Luke moments is when he got his head stuck in a banister – but he has an IQ of 150 and he’s a member of MENSA, which is a super exclusive high IQ society. Nolan appeared on The Ellen Show earlier in the week and told Ellen how he graduated high school already: he just took a test, studied really hard over the summer and now he’s looking to take online community college courses. You know, the usual. 

Not only is Nolan’s character on Modern Family awesome, but he’s also just as cute and charming in real life, not to mention super smart. I mean, I can’t even handle him dancing to Gangnam Style. Check out his amazing personality from his appearances on The Ellen Show. I think you’ll soon be just as in love as I am.
