Like, seriously fabulous. It was recently announced that Disney is launching something called “Disney Replay” where in the early moments of Thursday mornings (aka at midnight), the channel will show episodes of Disney Channel favorites from within the past 10 years. This sums up rather well how I feel:

I’m so pumped to see some of my favorite Disney Channel characters back on television. Those shows had some fabulous best friend duos that I seriously wanted to be a part of. Which gal pals do I hope will be back thanks to Disney Replay? Here are my top five Disney Channel best friend picks (in no particular order) of the last ten years:

Miley & Lilly from Hannah Montana

This duo reminded me that yes, it is possible to have a celebrity be your best friend. There is still hope for me!

Chelsea & Raven from That’s So Raven

I love any time friends get to be goofy and with all the random costumes and psychic-meddling that went on in this show, these two seemed like the always had a blast.

Miranda & Lizzie from Lizzie McGuire

Aw, friends forever! Back when this was on TV, I desperately wanted to steal style tips from this duo. These two always supported each other, both in fashion and life.

Alex & Harper from Wizards Of Waverly Place

Unfortunately, my best friend does not do magic (Alex) nor does she make cool outfits (Harper). Basically I am missing out on a duo like this in my life.

Penny & Dijonay (& Zoey & LaCienega) from The Proud Family

Okay yes, there was also Sticky (as seen in the GIF above), but I loved the friendship between The Proud Family gals (even when LaCienega could get a little mean, you know deep down she still cared). Also, remember when the four girls became a musical group? So cool.

When it comes time to get nostalgic about our favorite ’90s and early 2000s TV shows, both channels had awesome options to turn to for entertainment.

But which channel was better? Well the only way to know is a head to head competition of some of their programming and to kick it off, there’s no better place to start than with two of my all-time favorites. Clarissa Explains It All vs. Lizzie McGuire. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

STYLE:

Clarissa never shied away from fully embracing ’90s fashion and didn’t care what anyone thought.

Lizzie was an early millenial girl who also had a pretty good wardrobe, but it seemed like style stressed her out a little.

Winner: Clarissa (this was a tough call, but Clarissa was fearless with her style)

SIBLINGS:

Ferguson was annoying, but I always felt Clarissa was a little too mean to him.

Matt was funny and I appreciate that he got his own story lines.

Winner: Lizzie (they fought, but in the end, she loved her brother)

BFFs:

Sam showed that girls and boys could be just friends. Also, one time he choreographed a dance with Clarissa’s dad.

Lizzie had both Gordo and Miranda, so double the BFF goodness on television.

Winner: Clarissa (no other show will ever be able to steal the “ladder at the window” schtick)

OPENING CREDITS:

One word for you all: NA (as in “NA NA NA NA NANANANA NA NA… WAY COOL!”)

Lizzie’s opening credits always did look like a lot of fun.

Winner: Clarissa (that song will forever be stuck in my head)

LOVE INTERESTS:

I always cared way more about Clarissa’s platonic relationship with Sam than any of her romantic interests.

Lizzie was a “regular girl” who you know, just happened to date Aaron Carter and Frankie Muniz.

Winner: Lizzie (I also just remembered how she dated that pop star in the movie!)

USE OF ANIMATION:

Clarissa always had her funny comments pop up on the screen.

But Lizzie had an entire animated personality.

Winner: Lizzie (ever since, I’ve wanted a little animated “me”)

IMPORTANT LESSONS

Clarissa was always there to share some new trivia with me.

I also could always count on the cast of Lizzie McGuire to enlighten me with intriguing information.

Winner: Clarissa (I just don’t think they could name the show what they did if she wasn’t all-knowing)

….DRUM ROLL PLEASE….

The Final Tally:
Clarissa – 4
Lizzie – 3

Sorry Lizzie, but it looks like Clarissa wins in this Nickelodeon vs. Disney Channel showdown.

I was obsessed with the shows and the movie stars who were mostly my age, but I was even more obsessed with the classic Disney Channel Original Movies. Remember when they would premiere and everyone would look forward to them and then the night they came on, we would all stay in to watch them? Sigh. Those were the good days.

Looking back on some of my absolute favorite Disney Channel Original Movies, I have to admit that the plot lines are ridiculous, the acting is decent at best and basically every movie was kind of… bad. But it doesn’t matter. These movies, no matter how terrible they may be now, will always have a special place in my heart. I love them. And I wanted to watch them again, so I put together my list of 13 favorites. Check them out and I’m sorry in advance for making you procrastinate your school work.

 

Brink

Brink was the first Disney Channel movie that I became obsessed with. This was probably because I’ve always been in love with the idea of California, I used to think I could skateboard (I can’t) and also I had a huge crush on Erik von Detten. PS, where is he?!

 

Halloweentown

I could never fully get into this movie and I think that’s because I was always way too obsessed with Hocus Pocus to care about any other Halloween movie ever. This one still haunts my TV screens every October.

 

Zenon, Girl Of The 21st Century

This movie absolutely makes my list of best TV movies of all time. How could it not? First of all, it introduced so many new words and second of all, it really made me want to live in space. Why is life so unfair?

 

The Thirteenth Year

Okay, the kid in this movie is basically the luckiest kid in the entire world because, um, he’s A MERMAID. No big deal, just my life dream. Obviously I re-watched this about 50 million times or just whenever possible.

 

Smart House

The beginning of this movie made me want a smart house of my own, but by the end I was like, “The future? No thanks.”

 

Johnny Tsnuami

Hands down my favorite TV movie of all time. I couldn’t even tell you why. All I know is that this movie inspired me to start snowboarding. I failed miserably and took up skiing instead, but that’s not the point. The point is… this is the best Disney Channel Original Movie and I’m not listening to any arguments!

 

Horse Sense

I seriously wish the Lawrence brothers were still acting (are they? Am I missing something important?). This movie is one of the reasons why. And horses! This made me love horses even more.

 

Rip Girls

This comes really close to winning over Johnny Tsnumai. These movies caused my obsession with Hawaii. Is it sad that the Disney Channel influenced so much of my life?

 

Quints

I can’t even handle the beginning of this video. It’s so ’90s Disney. This whole movie is weird, actually, but I still like it.

 

Motocrossed

I actually really love that Disney had a girl doing motocross in this movie. Still, this wasn’t one of my top favorites – I was basically the complete opposite of the main character.

 

The Luck Of The Irish

Honestly, this movie makes me laugh so much. It is literally so ridiculous but so awesome at the same time. The most popular kid in school is really a leprechaun? I mean, half a leprechaun. I can’t even deal with it. Also, fun fact, the main actor also played Ian in Pretty Little Liars. You knew he looked familiar, right?

 

Cadet Kelly

I’ll watch anything that stars Hilary Duff. Also, getting enrolled in military school was pretty much my worst nightmare when I was a kid. I don’t know why, it was never a possibility.

 

Get A Clue

Aw, guys. Remember when Lindsey Lohan wasn’t a huge mess? I really miss this Lindsay and I’m not even being sarcastic. I still enjoy this movie way, way too much.

Hilary Duff had a baby boy yesterday! Though it felt like she was pregnant forever, once little Luca Cruz Comrie was born on March 20, everyone realized just how fast time’s gone by. Since we grew up with Hil ever since we first met her on Lizzie McGuire, the fact that she’s married with a son is sort of mindblowing!

It’s also awesome and nostalgic. Can you imagine how adorable that little guy is going to be?! To celebrate, let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember just what makes Hilary Duff one of the “Most Wanted” celebs ever.
 
 

Casper Meets Wendy


Hilary Duff was sooo cute in Casper Meets Wendy! Playing Wendy, the good lil’ witch, Hilary dons red throughout the entire movie. Our fave scene? When she taunts a warlock and shows not only her sass, but her youth. See what we mean in this trailer!

 

Whatever this was

We know it’s probably not Hilary Duff’s proudest moment, especially considering she’s a fashionista now. The point is, whatever went on with this belly shirt-kimono hybrid is over. She learned from it and she moved on. And for that, we are grateful.

 

Lizzie McGuire

In her breakout role, Hilary Duff is your average teen–just with her own cartoon doppelganger. (We think the real life Hil is cuter, though!) Thanks to YouTube, you can get nostalgic with so many episodes!

 

Her consistent charity work

A lot of stars will do charity work for the sake of a photo op, or have their assistants and PR teams arrange stuff for them when they’re in trouble. Seeing as Hilary Duff generally avoids scandal altogether, when she gives back, you know that she means it! Her fave cause? The Great American Bake Sale, which combines her love of baking with fighting hunger.

 

A Cinderella Story


We all know how Cinderella ends, but you know you still love it anyway. Hilary and Jennifer Coolidge are so funny in this–and we love that it’s modern enough to relate to. After all, you know what comes with actual horse drawn carriages? That’s right. Horse poop.

 

“So Yesterday”

Hello, breakup anthem! Hil sang about keeping her ex’s stuff and moving right on with her life. “You made my mind up for me when you started to ignore me.” Take that, Aaron Carter!

 

“Come Clean”

Is it us or was this the theme song to like, everything? You could not escape this even if you wanted to. Thing is, you didn’t want to. It was so catchy that it gave the world musical Stockholm syndrome.

 

She’s a chameleon…

We both love and secretly wish we could hate Hilary Duff for this: she looks good all the time. Blonde, brunette, glam, grunge, petite, preggers–she can pull off just about anything and make it elegant, and her gorgeous eyes and skin allow her to do pretty much anything she wants with her hair and makeup. Fun fact: She often does her own makeup for red carpet events. She’s that good. Ugh.

 

…And it’s contagious!

Nothing against Joel Madden or his current lady, Nicole Richie, but didn’t he clean up so nicely when he was with Hil?

 

She consistently upgrades

Think about it: Hilary Duff went from Aaron Carter to Joel Madden to hockey star and mogul Mike Comrie, who pretty much worships the ground she walks on. And why shouldn’t he? We love a gal who doesn’t settle or crumble just because one dude’s a jerk. The right one will treat you like a queen!

 

She’s brainy!

In addition to being a pop star, a movie star, and style icon, Hil went and wrote two books and took Harvard courses. Is there anything she can’t do? No, really, is there? It’s cool, we’ll wait.

 

Her sisterly love

A lot of siblings have a sense of rivalry, but Haylie and Hilary Duff have a strong bond and totally support one another. Hil even got Haylie a costarring role in Material Girls! Love love love.

 

Hilary Duff’s Pregnancy Secrets

Poking fun at herself and at celeb endorsements, Hil cracked the world up with this Funny or Die clip depicting her extreme hormonal changes. And we do mean extreme. We wonder how lil’ Luca Cruz will feel when he sees this in a few years!
