I never thought I would be taking sex advice from Taylor Swift, but I learned something really important from her today. Obviously Taylor has dated a lot of guys. Four albums worth to be exact. Homegirl falls in and out of love faster than I eat an entire pack or Oreos, which is like really fast.

Since her very public breakup with her very public boyfriend, Harry Styles, everyone’s been trying to figure out why it ended. Well, one insider is saying Harry ended it because Taylor’s a prude. To sum it up, Harry apparently finds the popstar “sexually uninteresting.”

My favorite part: “What she doesn’t get is that the guys keep dumping her because she’s being a prude.”

I have to sound off here. I’m not Taylor’s biggest fan in the world, but after reading this article I’m pretty ticked.

A person’s sex life is nobody’s business, celebrity or not. Taylor can have sex or not have sex with all of her boyfriends, and it shouldn’t matter. We get upset about slut-shaming all the time, but we should be getting upset about prude-shaming too, which is exactly what’s happening here.

It seems us girls can’t win either way. If we have sex with a number of people, we’re sluts. If we don’t have sex with anyone, we’re prudes. Where does it end?

If you are comfortable with the choices you’re making in your sex life, that’s all that matters. You are your own judge here, not anyone else. If you want to have sex, great (be safe!). If you don’t want to have sex, great. It’s up to you, and you should never let someone–your boyfriend, your friends or even Harry Styles–dictate how to handle your life.

If you’re with a guy and you feel pressured, speak up. You’re allowed to say no to anything you don’t want to do. It doesn’t make you a prude to say no.

Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy are way too young to think about getting married in our opinion–and unlike the case of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, they haven’t even been together that long. Here’s why buying a house near his (for real, Tay?!) and getting too serious too fast are bad ideas, not just for country-pop crossover starlets, but also for the rest of us.

1. You may end up settling.
It’s easy to get caught up when you really like a new guy, but when you get too serious too fast, you may not even realize that this person isn’t the best guy for you. If you leave your options open for at least a little while, you’ll more likely make a better decision and have a longer-lasting, more satisfying relationship. And Taylor Swift, while a true romantic, isn’t known for the longevity of her relationships.

2. You may get hurt.
Any relationship poses a risk, but getting too serious too fast is generally a recipe for a broken heart for at least one of you. Often when you fall fast, you fall hard–and things often fizzle out as quickly as they began if you don’t get to know each other and make a good decision before you take a plunge into a serious relationship.

3. You may feel pressured to move too fast sexually.
If you get too serious too fast, you may feel pressured to go further than you’re comfortable with sexually, and that’s never good. Just because you and a guy are in a committed relationship, it doesn’t mean you have to move fast everywhere else, but there can be more pressure to do just that. If a guy urges you to move faster than you’re comfortable with, you have to rethink his motives for getting serious, right?

4. You may have unrealistic expectations.
Taylor Swift sings about fairy tales. She’s 22. While happy endings and picket fences are nice, they’re rare, especially when you’re so young. Then when one little thing goes wrong, it can seem like the end of the world, because if you get too serious too soon, you can have an almost impossible vision of the perfect relationship.

5. You can piss off the people closest to you.
When Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy crashed a cousin’s wedding, the whole family–and the rest of the world–weren’t pleased. Just because you’re head over heels for your new boo doesn’t mean that you can be inconsiderate to the people who were there before you guys got serious. Just because you want to show them off doesn’t mean everyone else wants to see them, so don’t blow off your friends so quickly for a guy or invite him to everything. You need your own life!

6. You may overlook his douchier qualities.
If you get too serious too soon, often you have sort of rose-colored glasses on in terms of what kind of a person this guy is–and when he starts showing his true colors, you may be inclined to look past a lot of red flags that you wouldn’t have if you didn’t commit so soon.

7. You may be missing out on someone better. . .
If you commit too soon to someone, you may be missing out not just on the fun of playing the field, but also of the potential of finding someone better suited for you. What a waste of time!

8. . . . And that may lead to temptation.
When you get too serious too fast, you both may be tempted to cheat, because you may feel bored and deprived of everything else you’re missing. And that’s never good!

9. There’s a lot of potential for jealousy.
If you’re both so impulsive as to get serious really quickly, you both may be a little paranoid that the other may do the same with someone else.

10. You might not necessarily get a hit album out of it.
Sure, Taylor Swift got a massive hit already with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (which is rumored to be about her blink-and-you’ll-miss-it relaysh with Jake Gyllenhaal), but most of us aren’t that lucky–and all we get is drama, headaches, and more drama!

Is Taylor Swift dating a Kennedy?! Pictures speak a thousand words, and she’s been photographed getting mighty cozy with a member of Camelot–but not the one we all thought.

There were rumors for a while of Patrick Schwarzenegger and Hollywood rich girl Taylor Swift dating, which both of their camps denied, and with good reason. It turns out, Taylor Swift is actually dating Conor Kennedy! Reports say that the 22-year-old “Eyes Open” singer and 18-year-old Conor were “kissing, holding hands and getting extremely ‘touchy-feely’” last weekend at the Kennedy family’s exclusive compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

Taylor Swift has been pretty fascinated with the entire Kennedy clan for a while. She’s said she’s written songs about the family, and she’s always been especially taken with Ethel Kennedy, Conor’s grandmother. She took a trip with the Kennedys to the Sundance Film Festival to see a documentary about the famous widow of Robert Kennedy. Rumor has it, Ethel actually played matchmaker to spark Taylor Swift dating Conor–but maybe since Conor only just turned 18, Taylor may not have wanted to be as open about their relationship until he was legal.

And, in the typical Taylor Swift dating fashion, the starlet and her boytoy are falling fast and quickly getting serious. A source dished, “I was a little surprised. It’s been two weeks and he’s in love. He thinks of her as his girlfriend–not just friends or dating. He calls her his girlfriend.” Sounds a lot like the “Dear John” singer herself, who reportedly gets attached–and heartbroken–very quickly (see John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner . . . ). Perhaps Conor Kennedy and Taylor Swift dating is what prompted the country-popster to start looking at properties close to the Kennedys: She’s eyeing a $4.9 million mansion next door to her new beau–and his granny, Ethel.

Of course, there are also PR reasons why the pair are a good match. The Kennedy family has been plagued by tragedy and scandals, with Conor’s own mom, Mary, committing suicide in May. The same source admitted, “They think it’s great. Anything positive associated with an all-American girl like Taylor Swift can’t do any harm.” Taylor Swift is clearly benefiting from the match up, too: She’s getting the prestigious Kennedy Award this year, something previously bestowed upon the likes of Al Gore and Bono. It’s good to kiss in Camelot!

Two more reasons why we like Conor Kennedy and Taylor Swift dating. For one, he’s cute (look at him here!) and taller than she is (something she’s had difficulty with in the past), and two, their combined name is cute: TaCo! We LOVE tacos!

We just wonder what the family may think if and when Taylor Swift writes a song about Conor later on. Our advice? Don’t break this girl’s heart!
