class="wp-caption-text">I don’t see the problem here… | Source: WENN.com

I’m obsessed with sweatpants, preferably the yoga pants from the Victoria’s Secret PINK line. What’s not to love? They’re comfy, they’re warm, they’re cozy and while they don’t scream “FASHION”, I honestly think they can be pretty cute. So I feel personally offended by this post on the New York Daily News that totally puts down Mila Kunis for being photographed in sweats. The dek for the post literally says this: “Once ‘Sexiest Woman Alive,’ ‘Black Swan’ star now dresses like an ugly duckling.”

I mean, seriously? Is that really necessary? Okay, so she’s been photographed wearing a lot of sweatpants lately. Um, who cares? How does this affect us? I get that she’s a celebrity and her appearance is always going to be judged, however unfairly that may be, but this article is just way too mean and nasty to ignore. Not only is it absolutely ridiculous to call someone who looks and acts like Mila Kunis an “ugly duckling”, but it’s totally not cool to rip on sweatpants.

Before we get into why sweatpants are amazing, let’s just talk about why Mila Kunis can rock sweats as often as she likes. The Daily News says, “Sexiest? More like schlubbiest woman alive” but I don’t agree. Let’s face it: whether she’s wearing dirty sweats or a $10,000 gown, Mila still looks hot. I don’t think she’s “seemingly eager to shed her Sexiest Woman Alive title”, as the Daily News says, and I don’t think she looks “dumpy” or “frumpy”, either.

Also, I don’t understand this: “She’s a Golden Globe-nominated actress for Black Swan, not a member of Justin Bieber’s entourage.” So, wait… being nominated for an award means you can’t dress like a bum on your off days or when you’re on your way to the gym? Whoa. Where have I been? Why didn’t I know this?

The article then goes into detail on the more respectable celebrity females who take the time to dress casually chic rather than “dressing like an unwashed teenage boy.” That’s when I stopped reading. Sorry.

Let’s get this straight: sweatpants are awesome and I don’t appreciate anyone telling me they’re not. I also don’t appreciate the NY Daily News trying to make girls feel bad about themselves for not looking like they just stepped out of the pages of Vogue magazine every single day of their lives. I love fashion as much as anyone, but that doesn’t mean a girl can’t rock a pair of sweats whenever she wants. Give me a break!

How do you feel about sweatpants? Do you think this Daily News article is totally ridiculous? Do you think Mila should change up her wardrobe? <a

A really perfect bra? One that’s comfortable and that makes your jubblies look like a million bucks? Right. I had one of those. It was a black Calvin Klein front-hook underwire that one of the women in the lingerie department at Macy’s had recommended for me. Before I’d tried it on, I was skeptical. “Why do I need such a fancy bra?!,” I thought, but then when I tried it on, I realized that bra had been made just for me. The perfect bra existed, afterall!

I wore that bra all the time, until about a year ago when I lost it. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where it had gone, but eventually I forgot about it, found other good (but not quite as good) bras and got on with my life.

Then, last weekend, when I was sorting through an old overnight bag, I found it! My perfect bra and I had been reunited! I washed it by hand, hung it up to dry, and waited for it to be ready to wear. I was psyched.

The next day, I was running late in the morning, but popped that bra on under a sweater and headed out the door. Except, while I was on the subway, I noticed something funny. My bra was moving around! On my breasts! Every time I moved, it moved differently. I’d bend forward, the cups would ride up. I’d lean back and they’d slide down. Sometimes my torso was pointed to the left, but the cups of my bra were pointed to the right! What on earth was happening?! I looked like I had extra jubblies growing out of me and felt uncomfortable all day.

Finally, when I got home, I took off that bra and tried to fix it. Surely the straps were too long. If I shortened them, it would fix everything! No luck. What had really happened was that the band that went around my chest had stretched out and lost all elasticity. I had found my favorite bra, but it turned out that it really was lost forever.

I mourned that bra just a little as I flung it into the garbage bin in my room, but really, it was time. Here’s hoping there’s another perfect bra in my future. Maybe I should ask my fairy godmothers at Macy’s to help me out again.

Do you have a perfect bra? class="wp-caption-text">Is the Modesty Club just a coverup for glorified slut shaming? | Source: ModestyClub.com

Okay, so here’s something somewhat cool on the surface. A 15-year-old girl from California named Saige Hatch started a Modesty Club at her school because she wanted to dress conservatively, and it grew to an international sensation. Fair enough. But here’s what we have a slight issue with: Saige and her brother, who founded a “No Cussing” club, are implying that anyone dresses in a way that they don’t consider modest simply doesn’t respect herself.

What do they consider immodest? If you show your shoulders, wear short skirts, or show cleavage, the Modesty Club will not hand you over a card or a handshake. Instead, they’ll glance disapprovingly or maybe recite one of the worst raps we’ve ever heard since Soulja Boy was almost relevant. Seriously, we really hope they’re in on the joke here, otherwise there’s a lack of self-respect here in releasing this thing:

How you dress is an expression of who you are and what you’re feeling. But maybe someone who wears a short skirt has a lot of self-respect–but also knows that she has great legs and wants to show them off. Why not? Have strong shoulders and want to show them off in a halter or strapless dress? More power to you, but be forewarned: That may, according to the Modesty Club, mean you don’t respect yourself. If you’re like me and have an ample chest, almost anything short of a turtleneck–which I find uncomfortable because they make me feel like I’m choking (same reason I don’t tie scarves too tightly)–will show cleavage, whether I like it or not. It doesn’t mean I have no self-respect. It means, hey! I have big boobs and I’m supporting them with proper undergarments, and that’s what happens.

If you want to dress modestly, dude–that’s awesome for you. Congrats, high fives, fist-pounds for you, and we bet you look great! But just because someone doesn’t cover up head to toe every day doesn’t mean it’s okay to make assumptions about or judge them. By implying that a girl in a v-neck sweater has no self-respect and that a girl who wears shorts in public when it’s 90 degrees outside isn’t “dressed for success,” that’s kind of a sexist, prejudiced, and borderline slut-shaming judgment to make. And those same judgments are often what leads to the low self-esteem that the Modesty Club seems to be so earnestly trying to prevent.

Do you dress modestly? Do you think the Modesty Club has the right idea? Do you think dressing immodestly shows a lack of self-respect? Do you think the Modesty Club is sort of slut shaming girls who don’t abide by its dress code? Tell us in the <a

Whether they’re big, medium sized or tiny, polka dots are fun, girly and a little bit retro. It’s a great way to wear a pattern without looking really on-trend or overwhelming.

I rounded up some of my favorite polka dot picks for this fall. From clothes to accessories to underwear, there’s something dotted for everyone here. Check it out and let us know what your favorite is:

Polka Dot Blazer, Kardashian Kollection for Sears

How adorable is this polka dot blazer?! In case you haven’t jumped on the ladyblazer bandwagon yet, this fall is the perfect time to do it. They make any outfit look more chic and pulled together – plus, they keep you warm. We’re obsessed with this version. Not only do the dots keep it looking young and fresh, but it’s also less than $50. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Pink-A-Dot, Amazon.com

Why use boring old nail polish when you could have polka dot nails? I’m obsessed with nail art, but also too lazy to do it on my own, so these Salon Effects are perfect for me and anyone like me. The Pink-A-Dot pattern is one of my favorites: cute, but not over-the-top.

Pleated Polka Dot Dress, Delias

Sometimes you want a polka dot look, but you don’t want it to be all ‘in your face polka dots’. This dress is great because the design is small, but still stands out. Also, that Peter Pan collar? Too adorable for words.

Polka Dot Scarf, Old Navy

I missed scarves all summer. They’re such a great way to add a little extra something to your outfit, and they keep you cozy in the colder weather. This polka dot version is a great pick because it’s long enough to be styled pretty much any way you want, and the fringe gives it a little extra flair.

Vans Polka Dot Authentic Lo Pro Sneaker, Urban Outfitters

These Vans will pair well with any outfit, whether you’re keeping it casual in jeans and a hoodie or rocking a dress. They’re super cute and also so comfy. I’ll be living in these from now on, thank you very much.

Polka Dot Tights, Amazon.com
Patterned tights are so much more fun than boring old black tights. Pair these with a cute dress or skirt and you’ll look a little retro and totally chic. Another bonus? You don’t have to shave your legs to wear them!

Juicy Couture Polka Dot iPhone Case, Juicy Couture
For those of you with iPhones, this case is a must-have. You can get it in navy blue or pink, but either way it’s going to look awesome once it’s on your phone.

Victoria’s Secret PINK Ruched Front Bikini Panties, Victoria’s Secret
Your underwear will be the most fun part of your outfit whenever you’re wearing these… but, um, you probably shouldn’t show them off. These are really comfy and I can’t decide which color I like better – black or pink?

Crochet Trim Polka Dot Headwrap, Charlotte Russe
Slip this on your head for a really cute hairstyle and just a touch of polka dot awesomeness. I love the crochet trim around the edges – it’s so girly and fun.

Full Tilt Polka Dot Sunglasses, Tillys
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you have to stop buying sunglasses. This white pair is perfect for those extra sunny fall days and will definitely get you tons of compliments.

Which of these was your favorite? It looks so much better!”

The general consensus was “less is more,” with a more barefaced look being preferable to a mask of colors, false lashes, and bronzer a la Lady Gaga. However, a handful of dudes actually liked girls with more dramatic warpaint.

Guys’ biggest complaint? Too much foundation. However, if foundation in a perfect shade and applied well (see this gal for how), they probably can’t even tell how much you have on anyway. In fact, we bet money that they can’t. Why? Because these guys are a little clueless. In fact, the “natural” look they claimed to like so much? It actually takes just as long to apply as a Kardashian-style painted face. Seriously, scroll down to the bottom of this article to see it–as well as the laundry list of beauty supplies that go into it.

The fact is, most of us weren’t born with perfect complexions, and most of us–especially during high school–don’t have the best skin later on (not even celebs!), either. If someone feels better camouflaging their zits and then distracting from them further via shimmery eyes or something, why shouldn’t she?

Add that to the fact that another survey a few weeks back actually said guys like smoky eyes. But only sometimes. Uh…

The moral of the story here? Who the Hell cares what men think about makeup? (Except maybe drag queens, who really know their stuff with contouring.) Wear what makes you feel pretty and happy and confident, because that confidence is probably what they’re really attracted to anyway. If that means a naked face, more power to you. If that means Ke$ha-style glitter and some red lipstick, more power to you, too. If a guy isn’t into it, who cares? You know how many guys there are on this planet? Enough to make you not worry so much when one shallow dude judges you based on what you do and don’t use to enhance your own appearance.

Any guy who comments on your makeup doesn’t deserve to have any of it rubbed off on him. And considering the person men picked as ideal and natural is probably wearing more makeup right now than someone at Clown College, any guy who judges you on your looks or cosmetics in hopes of finding someone naturally perfect is probably going to die alone anyway.

Do you agree that less makeup is better, or do you prefer to look more “done”? Have you found that guys hit on you more when you wear more or less makeup? Would you alter your makeup routine for a guy? Tell us in the Adele is adding yet another honor to her resume–a clothing line! | Source: WENN

As if we needed another reason to adore Adele. She not only is the biggest selling singer of 2011 and 2012, she’s engaged, she’s recording the new James Bond theme song, and she’s a mom to be–but now “Rumor Has It” (we’ll be here all week!) that the songstress requested that British fashion house Burberry begin designing plus size styles–and she may do the designing herself!

While it’s yet to be confirmed, it’s pretty much a dream come true for Adele, because she loooooves Burberry (and it’s so cute that they’re both British!). She’s teaming up with Christopher Bailey, the creative director of the line (and someone she’s admired for a while). “I’ve met Christopher Bailey a few times,” said a while back. “I’ve always loved Burberry. I remember saving for three years to get my first bag before I got signed.” C’mon, you can relate!

We freakin’ love this idea for so many reasons. For one, it’s Adele, and she can pretty much do no wrong in our eyes. We’re excited to see what kind of designs she has in mind, because she always looks so classy and put-together in an awesome 1960s mod kind of way, from her outfits (many of which have been Burberry numbers) to her fluffy bouffants and teased wigs to her cat eyeliner.

We’re also just stoked in general that a designer label is going to have a plus sized line, because, well, it’s about time, isn’t it? It’s awesome for girls who may not be a 00 to be able to snag runway-ready outfits–not just for their own wardrobes, but also for the designers themselves. By opening a new market for their clothes, they’re pretty much bound to make more money. Which begs the question: Why did no one think of this before?!

Would you buy plus-sized Burberry items? Do you think Adele would make a good designer? My mom sort of gave in and put a purple rinse on my hair, which looked kinda red, and lasted about two weeks. Inadequate.

Cut to right before my first year of high school, where I was DETERMINED to show up on my first day at a new school with seriously purple hair, or at least my bangs (which was all I was allowed to dye bright purple, despite much begging). My parents didn’t mind that I wanted purple hair, but my mom was concerned about the mess: my hair is brown, so it would need to be bleached, then dyed. I’d also heard Manic Panic (the recommended dye for odd colors) would stain anything and everything instantly, so I was absolutely forbidden to dye it at home. If not there, where?

The stylist who usually cut my hair was down for it. She bleached out my bangs (stinky!), and then: in went plum-colored Manic Panic. I sat under a dryer to help it really absorb, the excess dye was washed out, and! I LOOKED TOTALLY AWESOME. I loved it! I taped a strand of hair in my diary, I mailed one to a friend. I put on a bunch of eyeliner and tried to make my most badass face and my mom took photos. I started school feeling like I looked utterly excellent, and was looking forward to not fitting in, which I succeeded at.

Ninth grade school picture; still wish I coulda touched up my bangs!

Manic Panic is a semi-permanent dye, meaning it slowly washes out, which was a bummer. I tried to keep my bangs out of the water for most of my showers, but of course you can’t keep that up and I wasn’t allowed to do touch-ups at home, so my bangs ended up blondish. My stylist said she could mix up something permanent and purple, so I went with that. And after doing my bangs with that mixture just once, I lucked out: she honestly forgot I was just dyeing my bangs, not my whole head, and started applying dye elsewhere (of course I gleefully kept my mouth shut), until she realized what she was doing and freaked out, thinking my mom would kill her. I swore I would accept all blame, and ta-daaa: a full, fantastic head of purple hair!!!

It was glorious. It brought out my green eyes, it got the “WTF?” stares at the supermarket that I loved, and I felt beyond cool. I ended up dyeing it black later that year and stuck with that until hot pink for college graduation, but that’s another story…

Have you ever wanted to dye your hair?
