Niall Horan and Selena Gomez are rumored to want to have some One Direction double dates with Harry Styles and Taylor Swift–but it could get messy! | Source: WENN

Double dates can be a really fun away to let loose with pals and spend time with your boo at the same time. And with busy schedules like the ones Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and the guys in One Direction are dealing with, it’s not that surprising that Taylor would be stoked to double date with Harry Styles and her BFF Sel. The “Love You Like a Love Song” starlet is reportedly eyeing Niall Horan now that’s she’s split from Justin Bieber. Rumor has it that she and Taylor are trying to set it up!

But they should all be careful of the drama that can come with double dates, especially when there are zillions of cameras around–and when one half of you are an established couple and the other are just getting to know one another for the first time. Here’s our advice to Selena, Niall, Harry, and Taylor–and to you–on what may happen when a double date gets awkward or weird and how to deal.

1. You may spend more time chatting up your bestie than your boyfriend, and he could get jealous.
Let’s be real. As awesome as your guy is, you probably have at least a bit of an easier time talking with your friends, right? You have more inside jokes, less of a filter, and they totally get you. As a result, it’s easy for your dude to feel left behind, especially if he’s never met or isn’t close with your BFF’s BF. A good bet is to try to stay on topics that you all have an opinion on (Anchorman 2) rather than inside stories (like how Carly’s hair looked so weird at her Sweet 16).

2. Your best friend and your boyfriend might not get along.
This is pretty common in part because of scenario 1–everyone loves you so much that they don’t want to share you! A good bet? Talk both of them up to other. Let your boyfriend know how awesome your friend is at Guitar Hero, and let your BFF know how great your boyfriend was at tutoring you in chem. Considering they both love you, that’s something they have in common, and they’ll be stoked that the other is so good to you.

3. You may feel pressured to move faster if the other couple is too hands-on with each other.
If you’re all at the movies and they’re making out and rounding second–awkward! PDA in general is weird, but it’s especially uncomfortable if, like Selena Gomez and Niall Horan, you’re just getting to know each other in the presence of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, who openly make out in restaurants. A safe bet? You can try letting your pal know before you leave to go out that you don’t want to be put in that kind of situation. If it’s already too late? Try making a joke about it (“Hey, looks like they’ve met before!”) and change the subject. Hopefully they get the hint, and if not, feel free to step out for air!

4. There may be issues with who foots the bill.
When you’re in One Direction or as loaded as Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are, it doesn’t really matter who pays. But most of us aren’t. If you’re going on a double date and don’t want to be stuck splitting the cost for your friend who ordered a steak when all you had was a milkshake, ask the waiter or waitress for separate checks as soon as you sit down. Your guy may offer to foot yours too, which is nice–but don’t always bank on it. Bring enough to cash to cover your share just in case!

5. What if you’re having a miserable time and don’t like your date?
For the sake of your friendship, try to stick it out at least until the movie or meal is done. And don’t badmouth the guy afterward, because it will get back to him and cause more drama later!

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber used to spend a ton of time together before they split. A lot of times when you’re single or fresh from a breakup, you have a lot of time on your hands that you may not know what to do with.

Thankfully, Selena’s stopped sulking at Hooter’s (girl, the wings aren’t worth the sexism–we’d sulk too!) and had a better idea: Hanging out with her girls. Sel’s been leaning on her BFF Ashley Tisdale now that she’s flying solo in the dating scene, and you know what? We bet she’s having a lot more fun. Here are our favorite reasons why a girls’ night can totally be more fun than a date–even if there’s no makeout sesh at the end!

1. Speaking of making out: You don’t have to deal with a bad kisser!
Bad breath? Attacking your tonsils? Awkwardly bumping noses or teeth? Smearing your lip gloss on his face? Getting too handsy? You don’t need to worry about any of that nonsense when it’s you and your pals.

2. You can dress for you.
You may be nervous to try red lipstick because some guys say that they don’t dig it, or feel like showing more frills than cleavage. You might want to wear heels without towering over a short dude. With your girlfriends, that stuff doesn’t matter. Heck, they’ll help you primp and take pics of how hot you are–and they won’t give you dirty looks if a guy checks you out!

3. You don’t have to be self-conscious.
When you’re on a date, you may be freaked out by how much you like a guy or just so focused on impressing him that you don’t act like your total awesome self. With your girls, you won’t feel pressured to laugh at a crappy joke (probably because they know how to really make you laugh!) or hold back when you want to talk about something serious or dramatic. You can also dance! That’s what they’re there for.

4. You can do girly things without a grumpy guy checking his watch.
Most guys don’t like trips to the mall, One Direction concerts, or watching chick flicks or ballet, and they might give you crap for it when you want to do those things. Your girls will, at worst, argue over who gets to pick the music in the car on the way there.

5. They’ll be there long after you forget this guy’s name anyway.
Love is awesome, but it comes in a lot of forms. The crush you have today may completely change tomorrow, but the love you have for your girlfriends and vice versa is a lasting bond that can weather almost anything. Take care of them, and let them take care of you!

Coping with a breakup is hard for anyone to deal with–especially celebs who have to deal with press asking questions and plastering pics of them and their exes all over the place. (Think Facebook drama multiplied by a million!)

Case in point: Selena Gomez was spotted sulking in a Hooter’s restaurant after her breakup with Justin Bieber. That’s gotta be rough in itself, let alone once you hear that people are going and telling everyone they saw you like that.

After a breakup, you’re angry, you’re sad, you’re lonely, and you feel like no one really gets it. Even if you did the dumping, you’re still probably pretty bummed out–at least a little bit.

While there’s no set formula to moving on from a breakup, there are a lot of things we totally know not to do if you really want to move past this rough time and get on on with your awesome life.

Here are our tips to you and Selena Gomez to move on from that dude who clearly wasn’t good enough for and didn’t deserve you. You can do better, but you won’t until you let yourself!

1. Don’t eat (or drink, or smoke) everything in sight!
Sure, those cookies and Ben and Jerry’s and hot wings (we’re lookin’ at you, Sel!) may seem appetizing now, and they might even make you feel a little bit better for a while. You may think drinking or smoking or doing some other substance may numb the pain. But here’s the thing: When the high–sugar or otherwise–is over, you’re going to feel even worse. Because not only are you dealing with a breakup, now you’re probably also sick to your stomach or worse.

If you want to treat yourself, by all means–you’re human, you’re awesome, and you deserve it. But if you’re using your treats as anesthesia for your emotions, it’s a problem. You’re pretty much putting a Band-Aid on a broken bone (or in this case, a broken heart). It may make it a little less ugly for a little while, but the problem is still there, and it’s not going to get better unless you actually deal with it instead of numbing yourself to it.

2. Don’t mope in public!
Selena Gomez, you should know better–you have a P.R. team! Even when you’re sad, you don’t need to show it in line at Starbucks or the halls at school. You know what’s gonna happen if you do? People are going to ask what’s wrong, and you’re not going to feel like explaining it all to them, right? Plus, you want to convey an air of confidence in light of the drama. You may actually care, but you don’t need the world to know (other than your diary and BFF!). If you’re really bummed, stay home–or at least slap on a smile if people are looking. You never know when a cute guy will be nearby looking for a pretty smile like yours!

3. Don’t force yourself to move on too soon after a breakup.
Rushing into a rebound relationship when you’re not over a breakup is a recipe for disaster–and will likely just lead to another messy breakup in the end. Give yourself some time to process why you and your ex didn’t work out. Keep a journal if you need to, and try to learn something from the split before you hop into a car with a cute guy just because he’s there.

4. Don’t badmouth your ex–or keep calling him!
It may feel good to tell everyone what a douchebag your ex is, but it’s only going to make you look hurt, bitter, and meanspirited. If anyone tries to bait you into talking smack, just say, “Justin is a great guy, but it just didn’t work out. Hey, did you see the Jets game this weekend? Now that was sad.”

And if you’re tempted to stay in contact with your ex after a breakup? Don’t. Even if you plan on being friends, which is great, forcing it too soon is only going to get messy. It’s a lot easier to move forward if you stop looking back. In a few months when you’re both in a better place, feel free to be buds. But by then, you probably will release that you don’t need him anyway! Remember: If he was so great, you’d still be together. And you’re not … so he’s not!

5. Don’t get jaded!
It’s tempting to look at “Forever Alone” comics and be convinced that you’ll never find anyone like your ex after a breakup. But here’s the thing: You won’t find anyone like your ex, and that’s a good thing–because if he’s your ex, he wasn’t right for you. Selena Gomez may never find another Justin Bieber, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a ton of cool guys out there who wouldn’t treat her like a queen. And if you get jaded and bitter, you won’t find anyone period. Give yourself a week for every month you were together to dwell, mope, and listen to sad songs. When the last day is up, hide all reminders of him and move it along!

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have had a rocky relationship for a while. They broke up about a month ago, and Justin was hanging out with Victoria’s Secret models–not good. He had to work extra hard to win her back, and it looks like he blew it again. Another guy came between Selena and Justin: Nick Jonas. But not in the way you might expect.

It wasn’t Selena Gomez hanging out with the Jonas Brother. Rather, Justin hung out with Selena’s ex, Nick, in the recording studio and apparently beat the snot out of him in a ping pong match. The guys then tweeted about it (ouch!). This all set Selena off. “Justin and Nick Jonas hung out all night,” a source told Hollywood Life. “Selena was crying about it. He wouldn’t even return her calls when she found out and called him up. Hanging out with Nick proved that he wants to just be a jerk about this, and Selena’s sick of being heartbroken. They are finished, and I think it’s for good this time.”

Now, this is kind of a toughie. You can’t control who your boyfriend is friends with, but we can totally understand why Selena wouldn’t necessarily want Justin bonding with her ex–that’s uncomfortable and awkward: What if they’re talking about her? It’s just a weird situation all around.

How should you deal with your guy being friends with your ex? That depends on a few things.

First, were they friends before you started dating? Then you have less leeway, because it’s something you knew going in. You can try to set boundaries: “Hey, can you just not bring my name up? Or hang out when I’m around?” and if he’s worth your time, he’ll understand.

If they became pals after you got together, that’s a little weird, but not necessarily bad: If you and your ex are both genuinely over one another, you can just try to keep a safe yet civil distance. If you think there’s going to be drama, though, you may want to lay down the law with your dude. In addition to the guidelines listed before, you may also want to ask him why he’s suddenly BFFs with your old boyfriend just to get a better understanding of the situation: Do they both love ping pong? Are they each the only other guy they know who’s really into Deadpool? It may be innocent enough. Also consider this: Do you live in a small town? It may be a situation of proximity and a lack of other bromance options. Though Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas are pretty popular, in Hollywood, it’s a pretty small circle, and everyone is bound to run into one another at some point.

Obviously, having your boyfriend playing video games with your ex is a little awkward and may be off-putting. But if you’re secure in your relationship (and in yourself) and truly past your former flame, it doesn’t need to be as dramatic as the dilemma Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber got into with Nick Jonas. We think the issues Selena and Justin had before just made what may have not been a huge deal otherwise into a bad situation … and maybe inspired that dance!

1. If you screw up, fess up
When Kristen Stewart was caught cheating on Robert Pattinson earlier this year, she didn’t deny it or try to make excuses. Instead, she issued one of the most honest-seeming public apologies ever. Did it work? Yes! She and R-Patz are back on and going strong!

2. You really can bounce back from heart break
Katy Perry started off 2012 with a big old divorce on her plate, but did that stop her from rocking this year super hard? No way! She bounced back and did her thing (even if she did end up dating John Mayer . . . blech!).

3. You really shouldn’t kiss and tell
We think Taylor Swift has been given some solid relationship advice over the years, but decided to ignore it in favor of making a ton of money with her overly confessional heartbreak songs. Seriously, kissing and telling the way she does is a huge turnoff to a lot of people (guys and girls!) and it could really mess up your romantic prospects.

4. Love and work can coexist
Contrary to all the relationship advice out there, on-the-job romance can work out! Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are still going strong, and so is their show! Presto! Go ahead and ask out that cute guy at work!

5. Listen to your BFF’s relationship advice
Even when you don’t agree with her (we doubt Selena Gomez is loving Taylor Swift ragging on the Biebz), let her say what she thinks about your relationship. Chances are, she can see a lot more from the outside than you can from the inside, and she definitely has your best interests in mind!

As Sel’s best friend, T-Swizzle is reportedly bummed about the couple reuniting. A mutual pal of the superstar BFFs revealed that Taylor hates seeing Selena so unhappy because of Justin’s wandering eye issues and the toll of the publicity they get as a couple: “She [Taylor] just feels Selena is getting weighed down by the Justin drama.”

It turns out, Sel’s own mama agrees with Swifty–and we all know, mama knows best. The pal added, ”Selena’s mom, Mandy, doesn’t want Selena held back by Justin,” the friend added. “She says he’s too much trouble.”

Sometimes we need to listen to our girlfriends, especially in the case of an off-and-on romance. If someone is a true friend, she wants to see you happy, and if you’re constantly crying or worrying about what a guy is doing, guess what? He’s not making you happy. It’s better to be single than strung along and miserable, and your friends can help you see through to what the real reasons are that you’re staying: Are you addicted to the drama? Do you fear being alone? Do you think you can’t do better? (Girl, you can. Whoever he is, you can.)

When you really like a dude, it’s easy to get blinded by that and not quite understand that he’s actually making you pretty miserable–it’s a tangled web of breaking up, making up, making promises, breaking promises, and bruising of egos. A lot of times your friends will see it before you do: Your behavior may change, and you may complain about him more than you realize. But your friends will probably pick up on it, because they’re seeing everything pretty objectively through an outside lens (and because they might be a little tired of hearing your kvetch about the same jerk all the time).

Moral of the story? If you’re unsure about a guy, ask a friend. She won’t steer you wrong!

As for the particular case of Jelena, Taylor Swift has said that cheating is a dealbreaker for her, and she’s smart for it. Considering the Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breakup was rumored to be due to Sel’s trust issues and Biebs’ wandering eye, we don’t blame Taylor for encouraging the pair to never, ever, ever get back together. Like, ever.

It almost sounds like the beginnings of a joke: Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus walk into a … recording studio?

In reports that may make our brains explode and faces melt, BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez did, indeed, spend a bit of time together in a recording studio–and Miley Cyrus was there too. Does it mean they’re working together? We hope so!

The world already knew that T-Swizzle and Selener were besties and that it would probably lead to a collabo sooner or later. They’ve performed together onstage, they go everywhere together, and now that Selena has been facing very public breakup-make up drama with Justin Bieber, who better than her bestie to help get her frustration out in the studio?

We’re pleasantly surprised that Sel and Miley are pals, too. They shared a pretty vicious history back in the day, and it’s so rad that they’ve both grown up so much–even though we’ve heard even recently that Selena really doesn’t like Miley. Disney girls gotta stick together! Both gals have new records coming out soon, too–Selena’s is due in March 2013 (she took a long hiatus to work on movies like Spring Breakers), and Miley promised on Twitter that her own would be coming soon.

Can you imagine the pop perfection? These are the same girls who brought you “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Love You Like a Love Song,” and “Party in the U.S.A.” The only person missing from all of this awesome? Demi Lovato, who can sing her cute behind off, too. Here’s hoping she can take an X Factor break and join them. Could you imagine all the lyrical shade thrown at the Jonas Brothers?
