With the Presidential election coming up, it’s no surprise that celebrities are speaking out on their political views. Whether they’re ranting on their Twitter accounts, voicing their opinions in interviews or assisting with fundraisers, we’ve been hearing tons of political things come out of some of our fave stars mouths lately.

Lots of people are saying that celebrities, and maybe even Hollywood itself, have no place in the political world. But whether or not you think they should be sounding off about the presidential candidates, celebs are definitely entitled to their own opinions – and they’re probably going to share them whether you like it or not.

Check out what these 13 celebrities had to say recently about Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and all of the super important women’s issues that have been discussed lately. Oh, and don’t forget to keep yourself informed. Even if you’re not old enough to vote yet, you can still get involved by staying educated and volunteering.

Eye Roll Scarlett Johansson Hates Being Sexy

This bugs me soooooooo much. Scarlett Johansson recently said in an interview, “I don’t like being labelled as ‘the sexiest woman alive.’ [...]I never wanted to be a sex symbol. I wanted to be a character actor. [...]But I think women that are curvy can be pigeonholed in that bombshell thing.”

I feel so bad for you! Everyone thinks you’re gorgeous, how terrible. Wait no, everyone thinks you’re the “sexiest woman alive” that must be devastating–not! It would be one thing if Scarlett’s looks limited her career options, but they have not. She has played everything from goths, to nerds, to superheroes. She has won prestigious awards and is constantly praised for her talents and abilities. Yes, people say she is a total babe too.

It’s so annoying when “pretty girls” complain about being pretty as if somehow the implication that they look good means they’re dumb or just a trophy. Do smart girls assume that they’re not “pretty” because they’re smart? Well, this smart girl doesn’t!

Maybe people would stop associating beauty with stupidity if the women we label as exceptionally beautiful didn’t complain about it as if it were a negative term. Yes, women are constantly under scrutiny for their looks. Yes, it would be nice if how we looked weren’t always used as a scale to measure our value. However, relax, a compliment is still a compliment.

Is it so wrong that when we think of ScarJo we think about her talents AND her looks? It’s not as though looks aren’t important to her (they are important to everyone) she looks stunning in just about every picture. It wouldn’t be presumptuous to guess that she wants to look good on the red carpet. I mean, who wouldn’t? All we are saying is, “You do look good, girl.” But no, no, no: beautiful girls are dumb, so people must think I am dumb.

Not the most forward thinking. If feminism teaches us anything it’s that women can look any way they want and be anything they want. If women can’t think beyond “hot girl” stereotypes then we’ll never get passed other absurd stereotypes like: ugly girls are smart to compensate for not being beautiful.

ScarJo, if we can accept that you’ve got the “boobs” and the “brains”, I think you can too.

Scarlett and Ryan: Back when he was hers.

Scarlett Johansson hinted to Cosmo magazine that she may regret her divorce with Ryan Reynolds:

“Getting married [to Ryan] was the best thing I ever did. It was the right thing to do because it was natural. [But] relationships are complicated. I think I was not fully aware of the peaks and the valleys. I wasn’t prepared to hunker down and do the work…both of us were extremely busy. We spent so much time apart. It’s very difficult.”

We like to think that celebs are immune to certain emotions (like embarrassment, if you’re Lindsay Lohan) but it sounds like ScarJo is learning the hard way that you don’t always appreciate a man until he’s gone (and moved on to Blake Lively!). Could ScarJo have fallen victim to her own hype and thought she could do better than The Sexiest Man Alive? Sorry Scarlett, but I have two words to prove that Ryan is the winner of this break up: Sean Penn.

Gurl on gURL kisses obviously draw more attention than guy/gURL kisses and guy/guy kisses because... we're hotter! Ladies loving ladies has always been a hot button topic and while we're not sure what the big deal is about a girl kissing who she wants, we will admit that we can't look away. Such was the case at the MTV Movie Awards when Scarlett Johansson stood on stage during Sandra Bullock's acceptance speech and confessed that she thought Sandy's kiss with her hubby Ryan in The Proposal looked "soft" and that she kinda wanted in on the action. But Scarlett and Sandra aren't the first famous ladies to publicly make out on-screen. Heck, (fun fact!) female homosexuality was common place in ancient Greece, especially on the Island of Lesbos! So that's where the term comes from...
