Sure, birth control is a super helpful and pretty wonderful invention (if you ask me), but let’s face it: it can be kind of, well, boring sometimes. We’ve all heard of the Nuva Ring, right? (No? Check it) Let’s be real – while the Nuva Ring is pretty cool, it’s also a total snoozefest. I mean, who wants to put some plain ring down there when they could put something much more stylish down there? Vagina decorations, if you will.

And that’s where the Nuva Bling comes in. What am I talking about? The Nuva Bling is a fashionable accessory – for your vagina! It’s a diamond encrusted ring, because, like I said, plain rings are so 2012. It’s birth control that’s “as sexy as you!” You can even customize it by adding charms on there! And don’t even worry about the pain, ladies. It’s worth it!

Okay, fine, it’s not real. Saturday Night Live invented it and then made a spoof birth control commercial about it. But how amazing would it be if the Nuva Bling really existed? No, amazing is not the word – crazy ridiculous is better. As insane as this sounds, I bet some people would actually use it. But since pejazzling is really thing, I honestly wouldn’t even be that surprised if the Nuva Bling actually happened.

You need to watch the Saturday Night Live spoof commerical. Seriously. It makes me really sad that I missed Justin Timberlake’s episode this week – if this video is an indication of how the show went, it’s pretty clear that I need to watch it ASAP:

My favorite part of this “commercial?” Wearing the Nuva Bling as earrings when you’re done using it down there. So, so gross – but definitely LOL worthy. But seriously, girls, don’t ever consider using anything like this. Please.

Jennifer Lawrence, guys! The actress who brought Katniss Everdeen to life on the big screen this year will indeed be hosting the sketch comedy show on January 19, with The Lumineers as the musical guest.

About 3.4 seconds after I first read this bit of hosting scoop on EW.com, I had to text my boyfriend the good news. Cue the exchange of excited “Yays!” via text! The thing is, both the BF and I are kind of obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence – she is just someone that it seems everyone has a crush on because of the whole all-around awesome personality thing she has got going on.

I was actually chatting with my friends not that long ago about how I was kind of shocked that she hadn’t been asked to host this past year. She was awesome in the Hunger Games (did I see it twice opening weekend? Yes.) and her movie Silver Linings Playbook is in the running for one my favorite films of 2012. There’s no question girl knows how to get her acting on.

Plus, JL (as I call her, obviously) just seems So. Freaking. Cool. Whether she’s talking about the awesomeness of having her face put on M&M’s or the strange-but-true account of her Honey Boo Boo-related car accident, I could listen to this girl all day.

Jennifer just seems totally willing to be goofy and go for laughs, so I’m real excited to see her take on the Saturday Night Live stage. Now excuse me while I go back to daydreaming about how I’m going run into her at a cupcake shop next month here in NYC and she will ask me to be her best friend.

Tina Fey + Amy Poehler + Golden Globes = Best. Awards. Show. Ever! | Source: WENN

We’re usually more excited about what people wear to the Golden Globes than what actually goes on at the show–until now. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were announced as co-hosts to the Golden Globe Awards, which are sort of like a precursor to the Oscars, and we’re flippin’ thrilled!

1. Their brilliant comedic timing.
Think back to their 2008 debates as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton and everything about Baby Mama.

2. It’s a huge step for funny women.
Traditionally, most awards show hosts have been men (save for the occasional tweak, which doesn’t always end well–picture Anne Hathaway, who we totes adore, and um, James Franco–it was a mess!).

3. They’re sticking it to dudes by sticking together.
Another reason this makes us so happy is because we live in a world where the media likes to pit successful women against one another, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have never let that happen. They rose up together, they helped one another, and now they’re on top of the world and still BFFs. There’s room for everyone everywhere if you’re good to one another and if you’re good at what you do.

4. It may inspire more advice videos.
“How to dress up for a red carpet event” may be the next brilliant, super-wise bit from Amy Poehler. Should come in handy for prom, too!

5. This will probably make a really good essay in the followup to Bossypants.
Speaking of which, Tina, can you please get on that? We need it. We need it.

6. The photobombing.
It makes us so happy when they do that–but as co-hosts, they probably won’t need to!

7. The girl power.
Remember how all the women nominees stood together at the Emmys? Maybe we’ll have another massive girl-bow at the Golden Globes.

8. The dance moves.
You know how Liz Lemon gets down on 30 Rock? And how Leslie Knope angry-dances? What if they did that together? Minds: Officially blown.

9. They know how to deal with live TV.
Since they started in improv and starred on Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be equipped to deal with any live-television-style disasters–and they likely won’t even break a sweat doing it.

10. The dresses!
Nothing against male awards shot hosts, but not only will Tina and Amy probably be funnier without needing to be so “edgy” (read: mean), but they’ll also be a lot more fun to look at. Tuxes are boring!

In the meantime, we can’t wait til January 13 to see this!

As our tribute to one of the funniest girls on the planet, here’s Kristen Wiig’s touching farewell to SNL and our favorite characters she’s rocked over the years, from original creations (she says Penelope is based on someone she actually knows) to celeb spoofs. The show absolutely won’t be the same without her, but we can’t wait to see what else she has in store!

Come on, you all know someone like this. That’s what makes it so hilarious!

Michelle Dison

Kristen Wiig as a bi-curious reporter made for some of the most awkwardly hilarious moments ever on SNL. She’s pretty much the cute female embodiment of the creepy guys who hit on you at the mall. For a gal as classy and awesome as Kristen, that’s tough to pull off, but she killed it.

Penelope

You know that friend who always has to outdo you in absolutely everything? Penelope is that friend. Times a zillion. Kristen Wiig manages to make a supremely annoying character fun to watch. That ain’t easy!

Gilly

Little Orphan Annie meets Problem Child with Gilly. Her mischief is giggle worthy in itself, but her quiet catchphrases complete her. Throw in Sofia Vergara and sex ed and you’ve got one golden sketch.

Shana

Doesn’t this sketch remind you of all the sexy cops, cats, etc. at every Halloween party? Except, in true Kristen Wiig fashion, times a zillion. She’s a master of exaggeration while still remaining familiar enough to be hilarious and relatable.

Judy Grimes

The anxiety-ridden travel writer is one of Wiig’s worst characters. Just kidding!

Bjork

The only way this could be more perfect is if she screeched a lot and wore a swan dress of her own. We dare you not to laugh when she talks about the sweater she knit–but not for a human.

Lana Del Rey

At first glance, we thought this was Lana Del Rey. We love that Kristen Wiig was able to simultaneously spoof yet defend Lana’s much-discussed performance on the show. And dude, she looks awesome in that dress. This performance pretty much proves what she once said in an interview: “Mean comedy is not really something that I personally gravitate towards or something that I do.” Like we needed another reason to love her!

Taylor Swift

It’s Taylor Swift! She can’t believe it!

Garth & Kat

Did you know that Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen actually did improvise these songs each week? That’s tough to do and shows she’s a real pro. Check out this hilarious Thanksgiving-themed collaboration with Coldplay’s Chris Martin to see what she’s made of.

Dooneese

Giant forehead? Check. Tiny hands? Check. Inappropriate lyrics? Check. And uh, our girl Anne Hathaway? Check. This was Doneese’s first appearance, and we think her best!

We wouldn’t be surprised if Sue goes down as Kristen Wiig’s signature character. But we’ll act surprised anyway, because we think Sue would get a real kick out of that.

Did you see One Direction on SNL this weekend? That’s right, those talented cuties took the next step in global domination with their performance on Saturday Night Live. The adorable U.K. natives have taken the music scene by storm with their feel-good anthem, “What Makes You Beautiful,” which we absolutely love–not only is catchy, but singing along to it reminds us that hey, we’re pretty hot!

One Direction’s star power grew even more when they performed live from New York this weekend, where they brought not only their soaring melodies and adorable smiles (ohmigod, those dimples!), but also their sense of humor.

The guys donned wigs, mustaches, and bizarre ’70s style outfits in a SNL skit with host Sofia Vergara, where they played her kids… despite, once being made up, looking older than she did!

It wasn’t the only awesome thing that One Direction did last weekend. They also starred in an episode of iCarly and broke a record when they sold out Madison Square Garden–the third largest venue on the planet–in under one minute. That isn’t even the first time they made history, though:”What Makes You Beautiful” debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 way before it was even sent to radio, making the highest chart debut from a U.K. act since 1998, and they’re also the first British artist to ever debut at No. 1 with their first release. Not bad for a few guys who were runners up on U.K.’s X Factor!

So we’ve got good songs, good looks, massive success, and adorable accents to make us love One Direction. In case you needed another reason, or just felt like making your heart explode, we found one for you: They performed with puppies. Seriously.
