Peep Zachary Seif, Demi’s latest blabbermouth | WENN

Celebrities have all sorts of ways of dealing with their problems. Few extra pounds? Trainer and chef! Wonky haircut? Extensions! Super stressed? Villa in Barbados! But one thing they can’t seem to fully quash is someone close to them who loves to talk smack.

And in the case of Demi Lovato, when I say that a former friend has decided he loves to talk smack, oh man is he TALKING. SMACK. With a capital WTF.

Her former guitarist, Zachary Seif, has taken to Reddit to blab about his time on tour with DD in 2009-2010, her less-than-angelic “drug years.”

He says he saw her having orgies on the tour bus with everyone from fellow bandmates to fans to security dudes. Not only that, he dished about her snorting coke in Wal-Mart (not where I’d choose to be all coked up, but whatever) and how things got “really bad” when she got into heroin.

“I think that stardom got the best of her and she completely changed,” he wrote in the AMA. “All the things you hear about her going to rehab is just to get her good press.”

Yikes! Doesn’t really mince words, does he? I hate to say it because I lurrrrve Demi, but I sorta believe him. I’m friends with more than a few musicians, and almost every story I’ve heard about Demi is along these lines (no pun intended).

BUT.

That doesn’t mean it’s OK to talk smack like this. We all have our demons and yes, if DD really is still struggling the LAST thing she should be doing is pretending otherwise, but still, I can’t imagine that Zach’s little tirade is going to help her at all, right? Plus, people who talk smack usually just want attention–which is kind of pathetic.

The bottom line is: Demi—whether sober or not—is fragile. And I find that the targets of most smack talk are fragile, too. So the next time you draw in a big breath and get ready for a bitchfest, ask yourself if you should be blowing of steam at someone else’s expense.

Are the rumors true? Find out for yourself, but be careful.

To answer your first question first, this guy clearly likes you. Guys don’t hold hands in public with girls they don’t dig. The fact that he’s putting himself out there and being sweet is a great sign.

Your second question is the toughie here. Should you run? Not so fast. Do you only “know” about his alleged drug use from rumors? If so, take them with a grain of salt. It’s unfair to judge someone based on what you heard through the grapevine, and rumor mills are like the worst game of telephone ever. For all you know, he could have said, “I like Coke better than Pepsi,” but the wrong person overheard only half of the statement and blew it out of proportion.

That said, it’s best to find out how you feel about this guy yourself–but do so very, very carefully. Until you hang out with him, you won’t know whether you like him for him or just for the attention and excitement he brings. Go on actual dates in public: go to the movies, go out to dinner, grab coffee, go ice skating, etc. These will give you opportunities to get to know one another better and open up. If he is into bad stuff, you won’t be in an environment that will harbor it. (You never hear of anyone snorting stuff in a well-lit TGIFriday’s, right?) He may not be so bad – and if he is, you’ll find out on your own, safely.

Always have a back-up plan!

Until you know this guy well and trust him–and know for a fact that he doesn’t do drugs–you don’t want to be anywhere private or unsupervised with him. Those are the situations where you’ll be exposed to bad news and may feel pressured into doing something dangerous. (Also know that whether or not you partake in anything, if he gets busted with anything while you’re with him, you’ll be in hot water, too.)

Another tip: Always let a girlfriend and/or your parents know where you’re going, and always, always carry enough cash to grab a cab ride home just in case (but that’s a good idea no matter who you’re hanging out with!).

In case the Internet isn’t mean enough to Rebecca Black, this weekend, cyberbullies everywhere spread the word that the “Friday” singer was preggers!

It all started as a Facebook joke, where someone Photoshopped a pic of Rebecca holding up a sign that said “I’m pregnant! 5/15/2011″. Someone believed the joke and it blew up from there.

Rebecca — who’s only 13-years-old, BTW — addressed the rumor on her Twitter, “I thought it was May 15th…not April Fools Day. I’m absolutely NOT pregnant.”

Finally, Miley Cyrus gets some help — from (gURLcrush-worthy) Kelly Osbourne, that is! Kelly spoke out against the latest rumors swirling about the interwebs on Miley: that she’s a bad influence on the set of their new movie So Undercover. It turns out, the starlet said on Twitter, that Kelly is the real culprit!

“Just read in the rags that apparently my mum thinks Miley is a bad influence on me it could not be father from the truth! Actually it’s the other way around Miley has us all on a health kick. Gym/early nights They’re really scraping the barrel on that one! This really makes me mad. Miley is one of the most hard working respectful women I have ever worked with I am learning a lot from her! I’m sick of all the haters judging her!”
