The Weirdest “Boyfriend” Parody I’ve Ever Seen

Okay, this is by far the weirdest video I’ve watched in a while. Apparently James Franco and Ashley Benson (yeah, I’m sure they’re not dating) made a parody video of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” and, um… things are strange. I’m not going to say it looks like some sort of weird and creepy sex tape gone wrong, but…. it sort of looks like a weird and creepy sex tape gone wrong. I don’t even have the words to explain what I just watched, so let’s just take James Franco’s description from his YouTube page: “I can’t describe this video. Just watch it NOW.”

The Best Taylor Swift Cover You’ll Ever Hear

Yes, I realize that saying this is the best Taylor Swift cover ever created is a pretty bold statement – but it’s also so, so true. The acapella group Walk Off The Earth made an acapella version of T Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and I’m not even trying to sound like a hater when I say it’s about 90 percent better than the original song. It’s so good. They even managed to incorporate the dubstep sound, so I’m seriously impressed. I’ve already spent the majority of my morning listening to this, and I’m sure my afternoon will be spent the same way.

Um, where has Selena Gomez been? I just realized that pretty much the only thing I’ve heard about her in the past few months has been her breakup with Justin Bieber. If you’ve been wondering what else she’s been doing with her life, I guess the answer is right here: creating completely random music videos with her friends to Taylor Swift songs. Such a Selena thing to do. This video is cute but completely random… at least, to me it is. Watch for yourself:

Watch Rihanna’s New Music Video For “Diamonds”

None of Rihanna’s music videos have ever been able to top her video for “We Found Love” … for me, at least. But I have to say that the new video for “Diamonds” comes close. It’s interesting to see a darker side of Rihanna, instead of the happy, party-girl side we always see. Also, who’s very tattooed arm is she holding onto through the most of the video? Find Out Why No Doubt Took Down Their “Looking Hot” Video

Was Gwen’s outfit totally offensive?

Did you girls happen to get a glimpse of No Doubt’s new video for “Looking Hot”? Well, if not, there’s no point in searching for it now. The band has pulled the video off the Internet after it was online for only one day. Why? Um, because it was totally offensive… and I’m surprised it even went up, let alone got made, in the first place.

The video (which is off of YouTube and Vevo – but if you want you can try watching it here) features a cowboys and Indians theme which is all sorts of offensive. Gwen Stefani is portrayed as a Native American woman, wearing what looks like a bad Pochahontas Halloween costume. Even worse, she’s tied up in a way that many critics feel sexualizes Native American women. Throughout the rest of the video, Gwen is shown riding a horse through what looks like the Wild West and hanging out in a teepee.

Meanwhile, the rest of the band is depicted as either other Native Americans or as cowboys… all of the costumes look like what Native Americans and cowboys might look like in the movies, about 50 years ago. It left a lot of viewers seriously pissed off. The majority of the comments for the video were about how offensive and racist it was… and I can’t say I blame anyone for being annoyed.

After they almost immediately took the video down, No Doubt released an apology on their website, saying:

As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history. Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people. This is of great concern to us and we are removing the video immediately. The music that inspired us when we started the band, and the community of friends, family, and fans that surrounds us was built upon respect, unity and inclusiveness. We sincerely apologize to the Native American community and anyone else offended by this video. Being hurtful to anyone is simply not who we are.

Honestly, I’m totally confused as to why this video was made in the first place. We’ve brought up this kind of issue before (about Halloween costumes), and it’s just hard to understand why anyone, especially a huge band like No Doubt, would think it’s okay to portray any race or group of people in such a stereotypical way. While I’m glad that No Doubt at least removed the video and took responsibility for their bad decision, I can’t help but wonder why they ever thought it would be a good idea.

Did Justin Bieber Just Prank The Whole World To Premiere His New Music Video?

Earlier this week, the Internet was flooded with the news that Justin Bieber’s laptop and camera had been stolen. “Secret” videos were being leaked, like Justin pranking his crew, Justin in a pool, and older footage from a few years ago of him on stage. Oh yeah, and a nude photo scandal (creepy).

But, um, apparently that was all part of the Bieb’s master plan – it looks like Justin just pranked the whole world in order to premiere his new music video for “Beauty and the Beat” featuring Nicki Minaj. Say what?! We’re confused too.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what happened: after everyone heard the reports that Justin’s laptop and camera were stolen, an anonymous Twitter account, @gexwy, was created. The account started leaking footage that was supposedly taken off the laptop and tweeting all kinds of threats to Justin about something seriously secret (thought to be a sex tape) being leaked at noon today, October 12.

Things started looking fishy when the Bieb’s tweeted “noon”. And then Nicki Minaj tweeted, “uh oh…the barbz have a BIG surprise cmng tmrw” Then we were all like, “Um, we’re onto you, Justin Bieber.”

At noon, after I successfully reloaded Justin’s Twitter a minimum of 30 times (what? It’s part of my job, guys), he tweeted this little message:

…and then he tweeted out the link to his new music video “Beauty and the Beat”. So, yes, the whole stolen laptop and supposed leaked footage was all a prank in order to get us to watch his video.

I don’t get it. Justin Bieber, I don’t know if you realized this, but you’re one of the most popular musicians out there right now and you have been for a really long time. You have seriously dedicated fans who would do anything for you. You have over 28 million Twitter followers! What are you doing?! You don’t need to prank us to get us to watch your video. I promise.

Check out the much-hyped video, which takes place in what looks like pretty much the coolest party ever. Oh, and bonus: you’ll get to see Justin awkwardly grind with Nicki Minaj. It’s worth it:

OMG, guys. One Direction premiered their new video for their latest single “Live While We’re Young” days earlier then expected! The video is super fun and the boys are all adorable, obviously. The song is totally catchy (I already have it stuck in my head), and this video makes me want to get up and dance for the rest of the day. Also, and this is important, some of the guys are shirtless… or wearing really wet t-shirts, which is basically the same thing. Watch it NOW!

Guys, I’m pretty sure I’ve found my new favorite song. It’s not by One Direction or Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift. It’s not about love or heartbreak or dancing in the club or whatever. No, it’s much better than all that. It’s about bunnies. Baby bunnies, to be a little more specific. And it’s amazing.

I love the person that made this video. For one thing, the tune is super catchy and I’ll probably listen to this a million more times today. For another thing, the bunnies are freakin’ adorable. After watching this, I immediately had the urge to go buy one for myself and then play this song on repeat. And now that I sound like a crazy person, just watch it for yourself. Trust me on this one:
