These super uncomfortable scenes are a huge part of what make TV shows seem relatable and funny. I mean, if everything were perfect all the time, shows would be so boring! In honor of the upcoming season two of MTV’s Awkward, I’ve decided to put together a list of the best awkward moments in television history. Check ‘em out, and let us know which is your favorite.

The first time Seth and Summer had sex – The OC

Let’s be real: losing your virginity isn’t always as perfect and sweet as some movies and TV shows make it out to be. Sometimes it’s just super weird and awkward. The OC showed this so perfectly when Seth and Summer had sex for the first time. Everything started out cute and fun, and then, BAM, fish sex. It happens to the best of us, guys. And I’m kind of happy it happened to these two, because hearing Seth tell Ryan about it? Even more awkward and hysterical.

That time Dan’s heart got eaten by a dog – One Tree Hill

Honestly, this might be the funniest/most awkward scene of television history. I mean, a dog snatching a human heart moments before the operation? It just doesn’t get much better than that. Everything about this scene is ridiculous (in the best way). First of all, why is there a dog in the hospital? Second of all, why does everyone stop and stare but no one tries to grab the dog? This is awkward perfection.

When Jimmy got shot – Degrassi

I am not in any way making light of school shootings, but we all have to admit that this super dramatic Degrassi scene was just a little bit ridiculous, not to mention really cringe-worthy. This kid was supposed to be Jimmy’s friend, and then all of the sudden he’s shooting him and paralyzing him? It doesn’t get much more uncomfortable than that.

When Aria tells her parents about her relationship with Ezra - Pretty Little Liars

I have no idea why these two thought it would be a good idea to come clean to her parents about their totally illegal/creepy/still-somehow-cute relationship, but they did, and so this happened. It was so uncomfortable to watch that I kind of wanted to turn my TV off. From Aria’s little brother punching Ezra in the face to her parent’s completely understandable shock and disgust, this had to be one of the most awkward scenes in PLL history.

When everyone finds out Blair still loves Chuck – in the middle of her wedding – Gossip Girl

Oh, Blair. How did you not see this coming? Even though I was totally rooting against the marriage of Blair and Prince Louis, this was still a little hard to watch. I mean, she was up there smiling and getting married in front of hundreds of people, and then everyone gets a text message with proof that she loves someone else. Like, video proof. I felt awkward just looking at her face and it wasn’t even real.

Speaking of awkward, MTV’s Awkward features maybe the most awkward moments of all and that’s exactly why I can’t get enough of it. I wouldn’t trade those totally uncomfortable scenes for anything. The season premiere is on tonight at 10:30/9:30c on MTV.

10 Characters From ’90s TV Shows We Love and Miss

The thing is, Blake Lively should be known first-and-foremost as a kick ass actress who stands up for herself in an industry dominated by men. We’ve loved her since her days with The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, but I’ve got to admit that I fell in love with Blake all over again (and in a totally different way) when I read a profile about her this weekend.

It turns out that when she was working on the new Oliver Stone movie, “The Savages,” she actually had a lot of sway over how her character would be portrayed. You might not think that’s such a big deal, but this movie involves some of the biggest, most influential men in the industry–and it takes guts to call such powerful people out when you don’t think something’s right. “The character in the novel was written by a man, as was the character in the screenplay,” Blake explained, “and it’s hard for any older man to know what it’s like to be a 20-year-old girl.” So she spoke up, changes were made, and PRESTO, her character became more believable.

Right on, Blake. We can’t wait to see what you’ll be up to once this final season of Gossip Girl wraps (although we really don’t want to see one of our favorite shows end, either!).

Teen shows love drama because, hello, being a teen is sort of a dramatic experience. It’s too bad most of them are guilty of glorifying emotionally abusive relationships. The story is always the same. A guy treats the girl who is in love with him like crap, he says it’s because he loves her, she tells him off, then all of a sudden they’re back together like nothing ever happened. I’m supposed to buy this?

When a guy is jealous, when he shows up uninvited (stalking!), when he yells at you because he is insecure, well that just means he cares? W-T-F! No! Wrong message. It’s abuse. What’s even worse is that most of these guys justify their actions saying, “She doesn’t know what she wants!” Right, because girls can’t make decisions for themselves? “No” doesn’t mean no, it means “try harder”.

Sorry, bro. Women can make up their own minds. They can date who ever they want. You don’t get to pressure or use violence to convince women other wise. Here are some prime examples in some of my favorite shows and movies.

Edward/Jacob and Bella Swan

Where do I begin. Even if I can get past Edward stalking Bella, trying to control her every move, and watching her in her bedroom while she sleeps I cannot get passed this. Jacob can’t seem to accept that Bella has chosen Edward so he constantly pressures her to pick him instead. He keeps telling Bella that she doesn’t know what she wants, he even forces himself on her and she has to punch him! Here Edward is pissed at Jacob about about his bad behavior. Jacob is centain he and Bella are meant to be. After all this you expect me to believe that Jacob and Bella have a loving friendship?

Eli and Imogen on Degrassi

Eli thinks his new GF Imogen might be cheating on him, when really she is just seeking space from him with her BFF because he is totally smothering her. Eli’s solution: I’ll stalk her, crawl up her BFF’s fire escape, and catch her in the “act”. Breaking and entering? Stalking? Not cool, bro!

Chuck and Blair

Look, I love me some Chuck Bass. He is my favorite character on GG. He is Chuck Bass. As much as I want Chair to happen–it really shouldn’t. (It’s hard for even me to admit in writing!) Chuck and Blair are pretty horrible to each other and their little schemes are kind of what made them awesome in the beginning, but in the episode “The Princess and the Frog” Chuck takes thing too far. He physically hurts Blair, throwing her into a glass window because he can’t handle that she is pregnant and marrying Louis. Even after, like in this scene, he still tries to get her back. He insists that he loves her, that she actually doesn’t know what she wants because she really wants him? Give me a break. This isn’t love, it’s abuse and control. No matter how much history and genuine affection they have for each other it stopped being OK a while ago.
