Tina Fey + Amy Poehler + Golden Globes = Best. Awards. Show. Ever! | Source: WENN

We’re usually more excited about what people wear to the Golden Globes than what actually goes on at the show–until now. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were announced as co-hosts to the Golden Globe Awards, which are sort of like a precursor to the Oscars, and we’re flippin’ thrilled!

1. Their brilliant comedic timing.
Think back to their 2008 debates as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton and everything about Baby Mama.

2. It’s a huge step for funny women.
Traditionally, most awards show hosts have been men (save for the occasional tweak, which doesn’t always end well–picture Anne Hathaway, who we totes adore, and um, James Franco–it was a mess!).

3. They’re sticking it to dudes by sticking together.
Another reason this makes us so happy is because we live in a world where the media likes to pit successful women against one another, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have never let that happen. They rose up together, they helped one another, and now they’re on top of the world and still BFFs. There’s room for everyone everywhere if you’re good to one another and if you’re good at what you do.

4. It may inspire more advice videos.
“How to dress up for a red carpet event” may be the next brilliant, super-wise bit from Amy Poehler. Should come in handy for prom, too!

5. This will probably make a really good essay in the followup to Bossypants.
Speaking of which, Tina, can you please get on that? We need it. We need it.

6. The photobombing.
It makes us so happy when they do that–but as co-hosts, they probably won’t need to!

7. The girl power.
Remember how all the women nominees stood together at the Emmys? Maybe we’ll have another massive girl-bow at the Golden Globes.

8. The dance moves.
You know how Liz Lemon gets down on 30 Rock? And how Leslie Knope angry-dances? What if they did that together? Minds: Officially blown.

9. They know how to deal with live TV.
Since they started in improv and starred on Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be equipped to deal with any live-television-style disasters–and they likely won’t even break a sweat doing it.

10. The dresses!
Nothing against male awards shot hosts, but not only will Tina and Amy probably be funnier without needing to be so “edgy” (read: mean), but they’ll also be a lot more fun to look at. Tuxes are boring!

In the meantime, we can’t wait til January 13 to see this!

The finally weekend’s here, but it’s not just any weekend. It’s a three day weekend (the best kind!). Here are our top 10 ways to get busy with your sweetie — not like that — or stay occupied if you’re single!

1. Netflix a brand new movie. Rent a scary movie so you can cuddle up on the couch, or if you’re riding sitting solo, choose the guiltiest pleasure movie out there and relish you singleness.

2. There’s now in, like, 48 of the 50 states. Go have a snowball fight and then make-up in the snow (you won’t get cold, promise). If you don’t have someone to kiss, build yourself a snowman.

3. Is it warm where you live? First, know how lucky you are and tell us where that is so we can move ASAP. And second, grab your BF or your BFF and go to a park. Swing on the swingset, go down the slide, and get so dizzy on the merry go’ round you’ll swear someone slipped you something.

4. Grab some blankets and a bunch of popcorn, and watch a marathon of that show you’ve been meaning to catch up on. Pretty Little Liars, Greek, and Gossip Girl are all back and better than ever, so now’s your chance to watch all the eps you missed.

5. Forget reading a book “cover to cover.” A long weekend gives you enough time to read an entire book series. Harry Potter? Wake? (Twilight? C’mon, you know you wanna…)

6. Watch the Golden Globes. Yeah, yeah, usually they’re long and boring but this year a ton of kick-ass movies are up, like Easy A, Alice in Wonderland, and The Kids Are Alright (all movies that you should see, like, 5 minutes ago).

7. Wake and bake! Whip up a batch of cupcakes, cookies, even muffins — from scratch! — during your day off school. There are few better ways to spend a day off school than with baked goods and bad TV.

8. Learn something you don’t already know. You’re off school, but that doesn’t mean you should numb your brain with Jersey Shore reruns… although that’s fun too. Check out our fast facts, where you can learn stuff you don’t know about things you should know like oral sex, hand jobs, and dry humping.

9. Still have holiday money burning a hole in your pocket? Take advantage of the epic end-of-season sales… or just go to the mall and hang out with your friends. Sounds lame, but it’s actually pretty fun. Have you ever made fun of a mall cop?
