If you’ve ever seen it, then you know that the central question asked is “Can men and women actually be just friends?” You know, without the whole wanting to get together thing getting in the way of the friendship. I won’t spoil the ending if you’ve never seen the movie, but it’s also a question that gets thrown around a lot in everyday life too.

After we wrote up a piece about a new study that said it’s not likely that “just friends” can be a thing, I really enjoyed reading your responses as some disagreed with what we wrote and some of you shared your own feelings and experiences. Thinking about our friends who become our crushes or who get a crush on us is still something that many of us will go through at one point or another, so for this week’s comments, I wanted to highlight what you guys were thinking about platonic relationships!

Sadness.

The thing is though, I LOVE using exclamation points! See that there? I just couldn’t help myself! Exclamation points are awesome because they show that you’re passionate about something – whether you’re really excited, angry, exasperated, appreciative or some other intense emotion bubbling up in you just needing to be expressed.

Sometimes it was because it made me happy that something was going really well for you and you chose to share it with us. Sometimes it was because you said something I thought was really sweet or inspiring. Sometimes it sounded like you were being a little silly, and that’s always a good reason to smile!

Basically I really owe all of you this week, because I got a chance to smile quite a lot at your comments! We write about a lot of stuff at Gurl that can be kind of a bummer because as you know, things aren’t always easy for womankind.
