Is it weird to count down to an awards show like the Golden Globes that you’ll never be invited to in your life? Just wondering. It’s not like I’m doing that. But if I were (and I’m not!), this would be the year I would. Because as I’m sure you’ve heard, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting and this can only mean good things. Great things, actually. We’ve talked a lot recently about the things we do when we have a crush and want to get his attention. We’ve even given you guys funny advice on the things you absolutely shouldn’t do while trying to get his attention.

As for real, straight-up advice on what works when you want him to notice you? Well, we haven’t really answered that, because there really isn’t much you should do. It’s just about being you and not trying so hard. Don’t believe me? Try listening to the wonderful and wise Amy Poehler in her latest video from Ask Amy. She’s been there, done that, and knows the ways of the world.

The Top 10 Reasons We’re Stoked That Tina Fey + Amy Poehler Are Co-Hosting The Golden Globes!

We’re usually more excited about what people wear to the Golden Globes than what actually goes on at the show–until now. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were announced as co-hosts to the Golden Globe Awards, which are sort of like a precursor to the Oscars, and we’re flippin’ thrilled!

1. Their brilliant comedic timing.
Think back to their 2008 debates as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton and everything about Baby Mama.

2. It’s a huge step for funny women.
Traditionally, most awards show hosts have been men (save for the occasional tweak, which doesn’t always end well–picture Anne Hathaway, who we totes adore, and um, James Franco–it was a mess!).

3. They’re sticking it to dudes by sticking together.
Another reason this makes us so happy is because we live in a world where the media likes to pit successful women against one another, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have never let that happen. They rose up together, they helped one another, and now they’re on top of the world and still BFFs. There’s room for everyone everywhere if you’re good to one another and if you’re good at what you do.

4. It may inspire more advice videos.
“How to dress up for a red carpet event” may be the next brilliant, super-wise bit from Amy Poehler. Should come in handy for prom, too!

5. This will probably make a really good essay in the followup to Bossypants.
Speaking of which, Tina, can you please get on that? We need it. We need it.

6. The photobombing.
It makes us so happy when they do that–but as co-hosts, they probably won’t need to!

7. The girl power.
Remember how all the women nominees stood together at the Emmys? Maybe we’ll have another massive girl-bow at the Golden Globes.

8. The dance moves.
You know how Liz Lemon gets down on 30 Rock? And how Leslie Knope angry-dances? What if they did that together? Minds: Officially blown.

9. They know how to deal with live TV.
Since they started in improv and starred on Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be equipped to deal with any live-television-style disasters–and they likely won’t even break a sweat doing it.

10. The dresses!
Nothing against male awards shot hosts, but not only will Tina and Amy probably be funnier without needing to be so “edgy” (read: mean), but they’ll also be a lot more fun to look at. Tuxes are boring!

In the meantime, we can’t wait til January 13 to see this!

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Are Getting Divorced; I Have Lost My Faith In Love

After nine years of what I’m sure was an awesomely hysterical marriage, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are separating. And I am losing my faith in love. If two good-looking, funny and all-around seemingly nice people who have incredibly adorable kids can’t make it work, then who can? Because I just don’t know anymore.

If you’re not very familiar with Amy and Will, you should be. Amy is one of the funniest lady celebs ever. She’s a Saturday Night Live alum and she currently stars in her show Parks and Recreation, among other things. Will is probably most recognizable from being in the shows Up All Night and 30 Rock. More importantly, they have two sons named Archie and Abel who are so cute I want to steal them and make them my own children. When I heard from my Twitter feed last night that they were ending things, a tear came to my eye. I’m not even embarrassed to admit it.

Why am I so depressed over the separation of a marriage of two people I’ve never met before in my life? Because they just seemed like they had SUCH a great marriage. I know, I know, I have no clue what was going on behind the scenes. But they just seemed like they had it all going for them. They’re both super funny, they both seem so laid-back and easy-going, and from paparazzi pictures, they just looked like they got along. They were perfect for each other! Plus, they never shoved their relationship in our faces and neither of them are super famous (like Angelina Jolie level), so I just thought that this was one of those celebrity marriages that would actually work.

My heart really can’t take much more of these celebrity divorces. It’s like I get myself totally invested in these star-studded marriages, then they fall apart, and I pretty much feel like my favorite aunt and uncle are getting a divorce. Maybe that sounds dramatic, but… don’t judge me. It was shocking enough to hear about Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Heidi Klum and Seal, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. These were couples I truly thought loved each other, no matter how ridiculous that sounds. I was even a little sad when I heard that Katy Perry and Russell Brand were splitting, even though it was obvious from the beginning that it was going to happen.

If Amy and Will can’t stay together, then really, who can? What’s next, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith? David and Victoria Beckham? Iman and David Bowie? I mean, come on people! I can’t keep seeing adorable pictures of you together online, only to find out a few weeks later that everything was a lie. I just can’t. Adorable celebrity couples, please make it work. Otherwise I just might lose my faith in love altogether.

But that’s so not the case with Amy Poehler, who gives actual, real-life advice on dealing with the stuff teenage girls always have to deal. We’re kind of obsessed with her Smart Girls video series, and we’re loving the latest episode on how to deal with embarrassment. It’s Galentines Day–Spread Some Girl Love!

Okay, so I didn’t even know what Galentines Day was until I found myself at the gym, huffing and puffing through my third mile on the treadmill, with nothing but network TV to entertain me.

Parks and Recreation was on (thank god!), and it was the special Galentines Day episode. No, I don’t mean Valentine’s! Amy Poehler’s character, Leslie, decided that every February 13th is Galentines Day, the day when we should celebrate the most important ladies in our lives and shower them with love. Too funny–and too good of an idea to not copy!

So, it’s obvious–you’ve gotta celebrate! Here are three ways to make your Galentines Day rule:

* Invite all your girlfriends over for an impromptu dance party. Put on a mix of Madonna, Nicki, Taylor, Pink, and Katy, and you’ve got an awesome night on your hands!

* Print out these silly love letters, write notes to your friends, and stick ‘em in their lockers. Too cute!

* Write cute Galentines Day messages on your friend’s FB walls. What about this one: “Roses are Red, Violets Are Blue, It’s Galentines Day, and I Heart You!” Or, um, something less corny!
