The Boob Files

When I was 19 years old, my boyfriend found a lump in my breast. I was a little scared that it might actually be something bad so I decided to keep quiet about it...Not the best decision.

Let's fast forward: two years later--minus the boyfriend--I decided something had to be done. I told my mom about it and we made an appointment with my doctor.

Immediately, my doctor arranged a sonogram. After the test, she told me she believed it was a fibroadenoma tumor. The doctor explained that it was a small non-cancerous tumor that can vary in size depending on the stage of your hormonal cycle. They are very common in young women, but just to be sure, I needed to have it removed. I asked her how I could have "grown" a fibroadenoma. She said that it could be from high amounts of caffeine and chocolate. I was devastated! I LOVE chocolate...
