By Diane

I hated high school boys by the time senior year ended. Now, I had only one thought on my mind: College Men. Gone would be the awkward dates to the movies, followed by even more uncomfortable kisses goodnight in a car parked on the dark street in front of my parent's house. College dating would be different. The guys would be smarter--our conversations would be about philosophy and literature, instead of gossip and the football team's chances of making finals. We would go on creative dates to poetry readings and art galleries, and there would be no one waiting at home to enforce a curfew. In college, I would finally find someone worldly and intensely interesting who would show me what an adult relationship could really be like. For four years, I kept a careful eye out for this dream man I had invented for myself. Here's who I found along the way.
