lifeguard
The summer before my freshman year of high school I decided that I needed more money. A family friend suggested that I work at the local waterpark as a junior lifeguard (you have to be 15 to be certified as a lifeguard, I was only 14). I thought that this would be a cool thing to do and signed up for the class.
My hours weren't all that great; I had to work the late shift, which meant work took a huge chunk out of my day. Also people thought that just because I worked there and they paid to get into the park they could argue with me about the rules, yell and just be plain rude sometimes. Another downside was really bad tan lines. We had to wear one-piece swimsuits with shorts, and because I am pretty fair-skinned I still have the tan-lines on my back!
Overall the money was worth it, and I met some people that helped me get through my freshman year, but you won't find me working as a lifeguard again!
