fast food bagger
I won't say I spent the summer flipping burgers, because I didn't. I ended up being the bagger. For those of you who don't know, a bagger is that person who takes the food from the cooks (if you even want to call them that) and puts it in the bag, and is usually the one who is to blame if the order is wrong. Let me tell you, it seemed like a pretty kick-back job for about the first hour. Of course that's because it was 9:30 in the morning. (Who eats fast food at 9:30?) Then out of nowhere this huge crowd comes flocking in and I was running around in circles trying to get the orders straight. Needless to say I failed miserably. At the end of the day my new boss called me into his office to "talk." I swallowed hard and walked slowly to the back where his office was. I was sure that he would fire me after messing up four orders and spilling a large Pepsi all over the floor. I took off my visor and timidly knocked on the door. My boss opened it and glared down at me with stern blue eyes. Then he burst into a grin and said, "You did an excellent job today, young lady!" I still work there and I haven't spilled a drink in months.
