Some months later, I had my first record album completed, a one-sided 12-inch. I was as surprised by it as any new parent and wasn't quite sure of the next moves, how to care for the little thing. My very small record label friend set up a mini tour to promote the album. It was from Olympia to San Diego and back and it was not always very fun. I was initiated into the strange club of people who travel far from their home, play music for strangers, and then afterwards sleep on their floors. It was at times amazing and at times awkward, as most things in life can be.
