#4
The first song I ever wrote was a homework assignment. Good thing the assignment wasn't to make a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich. I can only imagine how differently my life would have turned out. I decided to take some classes to learn about the basics of multi-track recording, mixing consoles, microphones, and, most importantly, about not being afraid of wires and cables and dials.
Lesson number four: If you start using technology you will learn how to use it. You don't have to master the art of recording or doing live sound in order to be a working musician, but having a familiarity with the tools and terms really helps.
