I kept recording and touring and within a few years I had quite a little stack of albums bearing my name. This is the period when I really started feeling established in my identity as a musician. I'd already gone through the initial emergence, the awkward adolescence, and then finally, a sort of blossoming, an acceptance of who I was and what I wanted. It took many years!
Lesson number eleven: Grow, trust yourself and work hard. Never stop actualizing your ideas. Just because you may have started out plunking around on a guitar alone in your bedroom doesn't mean you won't end up making album after album, having a band and touring the world. If you like the music you make, then other people will like it, too.
