Alana taking home 3rd place in the 2005 O'Neill Sunset Challenge alongside surfers Melanie Redman-Carr, Rochelle Ballard and Claire Bevilacqua"My biggest surfing accomplishment was winning the Town and Country Surf Women's Pipeline Masters twice--once in 2005 and again in 2007. I was only fifteen the first time I won and that was the first time I'd ever surfed pipe competitively. I don't really surf pipe all that much but it's a pretty cool experience."
Alana beat out women that have been surfing competitively for ages: Melanie Bartels (who was the world's 8th ranked surfer), 44-year-old Kim Hamrock and Keala Kennelly; women who have been surfing their whole lives.
