I discovered Sex, Etc. while working on a research paper for my Sociology class. I was studying the differences between comprehensive and abstinence-only sex education.

Abstinence-only classes promote not having sex until marriage, and they don't give any information on birth control or contraception. So, if you choose to have sex, you haven't been given any information on preventing pregnancy and protecting yourself from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Comprehensive sex ed classes teach teens about abstinence plus other ways to protect themselves from unplanned pregnancy and STDs. It includes education on gay, lesbian and transgender issues too.

I found Sex, Etc. online and used it as a resource for my paper. My research really piqued my interest in teenage sexuality, but the lack of accurate information regarding teens and sex was annoying.

I think sometimes it's the stuff that makes us angry that drives us to action. So, I applied to work at Sex, Etc. and was lucky enough to get the job!
