poetry about love

love: this morning

It's been a long hot
Dissapointment
With our laughter still hung
In the air.
This morning I will wake
and smell the coffee,
Follow rules as close
As I can bear.
And we start it all over again
Every fibre in me aching.
I wish I was someone else this morning
Or I wish I could go back in time.
Stay trapped like a bee in amber,
Frozen in my honey gold pod,
And never more would I wake
To smell the coffee,
Or face the slow resentment
Of my god
