poetry about nature

nature: spring comes again

In like a lion
out like a lamb
only this time it's
in like a person
out like a vegetable
i keep hearing you were old
but you never aged to me
with a smile on your face,
and a twinkle in your eye
no wonder it was so hard for me
to have to see you twice-
the first time peaceful, although
limp and a discolored yellow,
the second pale and so serious
it wasn't you
but disclosure had to come
and spring must arrive sometime,
although early,
spring has come again for me.
