thorn tangled words
haphazardly stored in the corners of my mind
they smolder unnoticed
as the smoke grasps firm and pulls me into
the thick toxic smog
gasping?

throat seals closed
traitorous tears escape weary eyes
lift a fragile finger and brush

glance quickly around a vacant room
