My name is Bronwen. My mother was infatuated with the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and liked the elves. When she found out that I was a girl, she wanted to name me Bronwen to sound elfish. Before I read the book, I hated my name because people said it sounded like a boy's. I decided to nickname myself Wenya. People then started pestering me more. At school, people said things like "When-ya gonna finish that project?" When the movies came out, more people started respecting my name and stopped teasing me as much. But since the movie, people call me the "Welsh Elf," since my mom always tells people my name is Welsh.
