From the moment I entered high school, I started wearing black eyeliner--not the waterproof kind, but the kind that smudges. So, I was minding my own business one day when this freshman came up to me, and said, "Wassup, Ferret?"
I was shocked. I had no idea why I was being called that name, and was offended by the very thought that people thought I looked like a ferret. Pretty soon, everyone (including my friends) started calling me ferret. I don't even think the new freshman this year know my real name (which is Kate).
Somehow, my parents found out, and my step-dad even agrees that I look like a ferret because of the black eyeliner. My mom dropped me off at school one day, and (in front of all these "popular" kids) she said, "Have a good day, Ferret!" All the kids started laughing at me, and my mom tried to make up for it by saying, "I'm so proud of you!"
