In Chinese, "Yu" means jade and "Fang" means fragrance, so the combination of the two characters means jade with nice fragrance. In Asia, jade stands for purity and morality, and it indicates that my parents expect me to be a person with morality and a pure heart. I like the meaning of my name--it gives me the strength to get through life when I come across problems. However, I think it's a bit too feminine for me. "Yufang" sounds too soft. Usually when people hear my name, they have this picture of a delicate and fragile girl in their mind.
Another problem with my name is that there are just too many people in Taiwan (where I'm from) who have exactly the same name as mine. So it's less special. I mean, there are at least 5000 Chinese characters you can choose from to name your kids--why do so many people choose "Yu" and "Fang"?
