My name means "crowned with laurel leaves" (ancient Greek scholars and athletes were crowned with a crown made out of leaves). My mom was going to name me Micah if I was a girl. But my grandparents said I would be teased. So she decided that even though she liked both Micah and Dawn the best, she would rather that I have a normal childhood that wasn't filled with taunts. She settled for the good, popular, overly used name of Lauren.
