I need some help. In my school there is a really important dance coming up and we have to wear a skirt. No one knows why I don't want to wear one, only that I'd die before I do. I have scars all over my legs. I cry almost every time I look at them. I've had them for a really long time (from chicken-pox) and since then I've avoided anything that would result in me showing my legs. My boyfriend really wants me to go and I really don't want to disappoint him. Should I tell him about my legs? Should I show him so that he understands?

You're REAL. Not another Britney Spears
Nobody's perfect. Yeah, you're thinking that's crappy advice but I truly think that guys understand that. If you have a good boyfriend who really likes you he isn't going to care. My best friend is a guy so I know a lot about what goes on inside their heads. They like the imperfections. I have a scar on my lip. I love it. It sounds weird but it reminds me that I am real and I'm not just another Britney Spears.

    If it really bothers you--
I'm not trying to say "it doesn't matter how you look" because kids can certainly be mean, but if your boyfriend and other friends care about the scars, they aren't worth your time. If it is really really important to you not to be seen by the kids at school, explain to your bf why you can't go and show him the scars.

    GO AND HAVE FUN!!
Why do you care about the scars anyway? I have scars on my back, and they're pretty big, but who cares? Just because your skin has dots on it doesn't mean your boyfriend won't think you look beautiful in a dress. Everyone will be having way too much fun to care about your scars. But i guess that's the way it is with most body issues: it's a big deal to you, but other people usually don't even notice or care.
