You say that they aren't close, maybe you just need to talk to your mom and sister seperately and eventually come together about all of this. Your sister shouldn't really be comfortable with your mom showing her all that she does, and your mother should--I hate to say this--grow up. Perchance your sister is the girl that your mom wanted to be at her age, so she regresses her maturity level to match that of a teenager, so your sister will like her.
Talk to them about how this is making you feel, and that you feel like your space has been invaded. If all else fails...give them a taste of their own medicine. --Posted by cheshirekatress 08:26AM EST 07/22/04

Here's what I think
You said that you and your mom are really close right? So if what she is doing is bothering you, you should go and talk to her about it. She'll understand. And while you're at it, ask your mom about having a girl's night out with just the three of you--it's sure to strengthen their relationship and yours too! --Posted by bxdime730 11:41PM EST 07/21/04

Hey! I think that you should definitely talk to your mother about how you feel. I also think that you should talk to you sister and tell her that your mother wants to be closer to her. There are other means of getting close and your mother using secrets and stuff is not a good way. Try telling your mom to take your sister shopping or to a movie. Don't forget to tell your mom that your private life should stay private and not a topic for conversation. --Posted by diamondcutie565 07:07PM EST 07/21/04

try this
Try talking to her and bringing it up--that it feels like you don't have any privacy especially with your mail and secrets. Tell her it is your business, but you don't mind sharing them with her as long as she doesn't share them with anyone else. But before you tell her, if you have any anger or rage in you, it will be best to get it out before talking. Hope it helps!!! --Posted by derbychik129 04:45PM EST 07/21/04

LOOK!
Look if I were you, I would bring the two of them together and confront your mom in front of your sister. And tell your sister the truth. I mean I'm sure if your sister wanted to be close to your mom or if it was meant for them to be close then it would be that way. But just me personally, I'm the type that would have been spoke up about it! --Posted by cicibear 04:30PM EST 07/19/04

You should...
If you and your mom are so close then why don't you just talk to her? Tell her how you feel about her showing other people your personal things! I am sure she will understand! --Posted by cherrychick2233 03:07PM EST 07/19/04

Hey...
Wow... So she uses you huh? If it really bothers you that much I think you should speak up to her, let her know how you feel about her using you like that. Maybe tell her that she should talk to her other daughter about their friendship with each other and leave you out of it because it's really not your problem if they aren't close.
And maybe even talk to your sister about what your mom is doing--it might help. --Posted by angel_grl18 12:52PM EST 07/19/04

hey
Even though I think your mom is acting like a crazy invasive jerk, she is only human. She probably sees you as the only common thread between herself and your sister: "you" are the only topic that they both care about or agree upon, so there probably isn't a lot else your Mom can think of to discuss. What you could suggest is that your mom read the same books or magazines as your sister, or watch tv or movies with your sister and they can discuss those things. --Posted by toomuchpressure 08:16PM EST 07/18/04

Group Activity
Why don't you have a girl's day out? All three of you can take a trip to the movies or the mall and hang out together. --Posted by x_paradise_x 07:27PM EST 07/18/04

This is what I think
Ok, so your mom isn't that close to our sister-- maybe you should get them together to have like mother daughter dates, that way they don't have to use you as their match maker. So get them together and like make a reservation at a restaurant and see what happens from there. And if that doesn't work then just try to confront her about quietly and calmly--but go easy! --Posted by NYfinest1SB 03:46PM EST 07/18/04
