I am 16 and I received my driver's license two weeks ago. I have a fully equipped, safe (but used) car and plenty of experience with driving. I took driver's ed, practiced every chance I got and even took a "Behind The Wheel" course outside of school. BUT, my mom still won't let me drive on my own.

I want her to give me my freedom and stop babying me. What should I do to convince her I am able to drive on my own?

    It takes time....
When I got my license my mom had me on "trial"; she said that after a year she would hand me the car, because she wanted to be sure that I would be careful. So when I started she would always get uptight and start yelling, but months went by and she did it less often and before I knew it she said, "Ok, Ariana, I'm going to let you take the car, but you'd better call me when you get to the mall."

So I said ok, and from then on she gave me the car. By the way, I was about 17 going on 18 whe she started to let me drive myself to college. Good luck; mom's sometimes have good reasons for doing what they do, even if it ticks you off.
