She will love it, because she love you!
I'm always low on cash! So, when I have a birthday around the corner, or just realize it's coming, I don't panic! I run to Dollar General or Wal-Mart and get one or two of the big round candals that smell great, only about $1.00. I also head to the craft section of Wal-Mart. I get some fun confetti, as well as straight pins. I pin the confetti on the candals with the straight pins! It always looks pretty when you are done! I did this once for my boyfiend. His is still in his room!

Well...
It was my boyfriend's birthday on Saturday and since I'm in college, I don't have any money. So I wrote him a list of things I like about him. Who knows if he'll like it or not but maybe? And I'm sure you could do this for your awesome friends too.

Try making friendship bead bracelets or anklets...or try writing your friends a song if you're really in the mood to give and impress. Another excellent example would be to help your friend out during her birthday. Surprise her with tiny little things.

I'm the same.
I am the same way. I always feel so bad that I never have any good gifts compared to my friend's gifts. What I usually do is write a thoughtful letter. If not that, you can burn a CD that fits both of your styles. No? Make a cake with cool decorations. Eh? How about making a scrapbook with the both of you together (memories are always fun to laugh about). Too expensive? Invite her over and have a "Her Day". She can pick out what movies to watch, what snack to eat and after you can just laugh and talk (my favorite). I'm sure she'll love whatever you give her.

When I don't have the time or money...
I just go to a Dollar General and get a card. Then I decorate the envelope with scrapbook embellishments. Then I buy a camera or two for my friend so she can take pics of her party. Easy as can be!

Homemade gifts are always a good way to make something cheap, and because of the time and love you put in, it's still really nice. You can just buy some felt (29 cents a sheet at my local craft store) and make a simple coin purse or a nice iPod case by just cutting out a rectangle, folding it in half and sewing up the sides. I like to add a fabric lining, a hole (if it's for an iPod) and a little bit of decoration on the outside, like buttons or stitches. You could also make a simple necklace from some beads, or if you buy a small gift, make a bag for it yourself so it adds a little something more.

C stands for Cheap and Cool
It's not a bad thing to get cheap gifts as long as it comes from the heart. So to me whatever you get will be fine. You can also make your own gifts, like a card or a nice comic book about your friendship or how you met. Please always remember one thing: life is not about the gifts you give, it's about the person giving the gift.
