You should explain that they've put you in an extremely difficult position and that you enjoy hanging out with both groups equally. Tell them you dont want to have to choose just one group, and you shouldn't have to. It may not be the answer they're looking for but I bet with time both groups will come to terms with what you've explained to them. Hopefully they will get over it. If worse comes to worse, maybe you should consider finding another group of girls to hang out with.

Don't pay either of them any mind
You shouldn't have to choose between friends. They all like you for you and even if they don't like each other that shouldn't make a difference. It's YOU they're friends with, not the other girls. Let them know that.

How stupid!
I think if either side were truly your friends they wouldn't make you make a dumb decision like that. I see it like this: one day hang out with your cheer chicas and the next day chill with your non cheer chicas. If any of them have a problem, then you'll know who's really a friend and who's not!

What you really need to decide...
Is which ones respect you more and treat you with lots of love. From what it sounds like, neither are being that fair. If they don't like 'em, they don't need to hang out with them. Make seperate time for both and if they can't handle that, then you can come and be MY friend ;)

You don't have to stop being friends w/ one group to please the other group. Just tell your other friends that you like to cheer and that the squad is also a group of your friends. As for the cheerleaders, tell them that you have other friends. Just don't blow one group off for the other or they'll get really pissed.

You should try to get them to be friends. If that does not work than hang out with both of them--because if they were your real friends they would not make you choose.
