My friend thinks I'm the girl of his dreams. He's written songs about me and everything. But, I don't feel that way about him. To make it worse, I think I love his friend and his friend loves me too. We don't know what to do! HELP.
Don't lead him on!
From experience you will not want to lead him on. It will only hurt him worse, not to mention your friendship. You need to tell him he's a great guy (start out with a positive) but let him know that right now you guys are not on the same page, and that you don't feel the same way.
Then end with a positive--you never know what tomorrow brings. You may just start liking his quirky charms that make your friendship interesting. Give him hope for the future, or let him know that there is a girl that is even more perfect for him.
For this other dude you think you like, give it a little time. Your friendship is more important than your crush right now. If you guys really "love" each other it will work out just fine. Good luck and I hope everything turns out in the end. --Posted by performer91 08:56AM EST 09/01/05
Tell him.
You should tell him, because things will only seem awkward when you're together. If he's a true friend he will understand that you don't have the same feelings for him but you still want to have this special friendship that you already have.
With his friend, you should tell him that too, because if one day (after you told him you want to remain friends) you start dating his friend, he will probably be really hurt, confused and mad. Hopefully everything will work out for you. I hoped I helped in some way.
And, if I was in this situation (not saying you HAVE to do this or you should...just an opinion)I'd also tell his friend that you may have feelings for him, more than just friends. --Posted by obsessed_manson 06:17PM EST 08/29/05
