OK, being a fat girl myself, I think that your friend knows she's fat...and when a fat person asks another person if they're fat, you're supposed to say no. Because the truth is, the person knows they're fat and it makes them feel sh*tty, so when they ask a friend, hoping for a confidence boost, and the friend hurts their feelings like that, it might cause them to be a tad bit pissed. But tell her you're sorry, and after all, you're her friend for who she is, not what she looks like....

Talk To Her
I think the real question is "Why did you say it?"
Was it to be mean, rude, honest? If you said it to be mean or rude, then you're NOT being a friend and if I were your friend I'd have you begging for my forgiveness. But that's messy so what you should do is go talk to her and tell her how upset you are about saying that and that you didn't mean to hurt her or make fun of her. If she forgives you, then maybe this friendship was meant to be; and if she doesn't maybe you should be careful about what you say to the next friend.
