why do u guys have so many stereotypes? im 14 and im a cheerleader and most people would say im neither a slut nor stuck up just because u guys saw bring it on doesnt mean that u kno what cheerleaders are like trust i kno some of them can be rude and the biggest snobs on the planet but not all of us are like that u think just because were in skirts and smiling all the time were stupid and dumb and only in it for the guys i did it because i wanted to try it out and btw asmartblonde91 who gives a shit if we have grammer problems its the internet who cares nor is it degrading to women gosh i wear a short skirt and suddenly ima slut and bad name for girls everywhere just because im cheering on my guy friends on the football team where do u people come off saying all of that when most of u havnt even been 1! word of advice, how would you feel if u were being stereotyped just by being urself

But on the real you get to go out of town a lot.But the only thing bad about it is the practing ! My legs be hurting like hell. its like the coolest right there with gymnastics, people who can do those high kicks and stuff is like way cool, plus getting the crowd all rild up is half the fun, love it. I don't do it but i wish i had the time!

What do people mean when they say "Cheerleaders don't know what dancing is "? To be a cheerleading you have to work hard and know how to dance. We do stunts and we dance all the time ! It's not as easy as it looks...

Cheerleading ROCKS!
I am a cheerleader and a good one at that. I cheerlead for a private school I attend and it is really fun but hard work. For all the peeps who think cheerleading is not a sport.. I would like you to stretch to the heel of your foot over and over, do a couple cartwheels and tumbles after that, then run 2 laps and come back and do the routine over and over again, geesh! I would have to say the whole cheer squad is popular but you know what.. we all can't make lower than a b+ if your lucky a c+ to stay on the squad. Also most cheerleaders on our team entered the spelling bee and 2 of them won. I am not really stuck up or snobby! Yes, most of the cheerleaders at our school are rich and a bit of a snob but they probably care more about people than alot of kids these days! All the peeps who hate us need to get a life! Also I do run track when the season comes.. 110, 200, and 400 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash!! So cheerleaders are athletic!

Cheerleading is a sport. You have NO idea how much of a workout it is!! At our school we have to run a mile everyday and lift weights every single day! So whoever the heck posted the thing sayin' cheerleading is about like sittin on the couch watchin t.v. THINK AGAIN BUD! Oh and yeah all the cheerleaders at my school go to gymnastics! Yes, I agree some of the cheerleaders are stuck up. But, no, not all of them! And whoever calls cheerleaders dumb blondes, ditsy, or whatever else...yea right! I am involved with volleyball, quizbowl, band, piano, gymanstics, voice, along with cheerleading. So think again whoever thinks cheerleading is an easy sport. It's not, if you wanna see for yourself, YOU go try out and then you tell me how you think it is.

it IS a sport and we cheerleaders work our asses off in practices etc, to try and qualify for compitions. i can't BELIEVE that people would be so incredibly clueless to how hard cheerleaders work. the workouts are insanly difficult, try doing 200 crunches every day of the week...on TOP of other workout routines. It disgusts me that people would be so ***ing judgemental. It pisses me off that just cause you see movies with sluty girls at the cheerleaders doesn't mean that cheerleaders just prance around in tiny skirts and hook up with every guy they see. I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE WOULD BE SO BITCHY ENOUGH TO SAY STUFF LIKE, " cheerleading is for preppy little sluts who cant gt attention any other ways so the have to show thier underwear and be all happy all the time. I just love how you people judge every cheerleader as a Whore, bitch, skank, etc.
Cheerleading is a sport let me clear that up. For everyone who wants to argue why? Well let me tell you...the definition of a sport is a physical activity set by a set of rules. Cheerleading is physical. You wonder and ask why? Flips, back handsprings, roundoffs, conditioning, stunting, etc. Its also set by rules. There for its a sport =) thank you.
Now for everyone saying that cheerleaders cant be tomboys..bull shit. Im a varsity cheerleader for my highschool and I still play TACKLE football with the guys, I still wrestle with them,I play softball and basketball and I played volleyball for 5 years. TRUE STORY. its not like OMG i broke a nail. So you cant say cheerleaders cant be tomboys. How is cheerleading degrading? Its not in any way. Wow a short skirt. No biggie. And another thing...we dont run around yelling "go team go" I have never heard another cheerleader yell " go team go"
But whatever...I said what was on my mind.. =)

all the ppl who say its not are mostly narrow-minded ppl who have never tried it or bein involved in cheerleading so pretty much have no idea what they are talkin about.....and i have noticed all of the ppl that think its stupid and hate cheerleaders couldnt do what we do if their life depended on it and are jelous of the attention cheerleaders get and it doesnt go to them!....... so thats it and oh yea.....

OMG CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT! It's a mix of dance and gymnastics which are both considered sports individually. I'm co-cap of the varsity comp squad at my skool and we work HARD especially me. I choreograph the routines, teach them, and run practices. PLUS i'm not some stupid ditz, I'm principal's scholar (top 15 averages in the skool, on student council, on business council, am the marketing editor for yearbook, AND have a social life. I've been cheerleading since I was 9 and I'm DAMN good. I've worked my ass off and I work my squad hard. We have practices 3 times a week for 2 hours and then I have half an hour head meetings and 2 hours choreographing new routines almost every or everyother week. So all u ppl stereotyping us as sluts and ditzes dont know what ur talkin about. At practices and cheerleading camp, you work out SO much that u feel like ur arms/legs are gunna fall off.

My football team sucks, the chearleaders try to chear normally but, no one cares anymore. I stopped carring when I was nine.It's same cheer every time, the same snoby people, and did I mention the same stuck up people, it all sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheerleading a sport? So funny I forgot to laugh.
Whenever I bring up the topic that cheerleading isn't a sport, I get the same reply every time, "We have to work just as hard as any other sport, we go to camps and come back sore etc..." but if you really think aboutit, you have to work hard in any hobby, right? I don't see cheerleading as a sport because there's no contact and really no competition. Ok yeah, you have your regionals but that only has about the same intensity level as a choir meet. I mean come on, you can't compare that to a State Championship basketball or football game, it just isn't the same. It just seems to me that girls who cheerlead are using it as an excuse not to work their asses off but show their asses off. It shouldn't be catergorized as sport, maybe a dance or maybe because there so important and beautiful and dramatic, drama. Cheerleading is anything but a sport.

chearleading is not a sport.. u run around in mini skirts that go up when ever u walk and tight shirts..then u stand there saying "go team go" its not even a contribution to the sport they r chearing at! some chear squads do flips in the air.. big woop! any one can do that!!! here is a discription of a REAL sport: rough, painful, contact, falling,defense, offense,etc. in chearleading.. the only contact they have is the girls foot ontop of someone elses hand! its not like they are actually colliding into each other and busting their lips or something. their defense is the hair spray..making sure everything looks right...what r they gonna do throw pom poms at each other and start to cry when they break their nail? oh ya thats really considered a sport *cough cough*. u see, b4 participating in a sport.. u have to stretch..warm up.. out on ur equipment..etc.. but b4 chearleading, u fix ur hair, put in hair spray.. make sure it is bouncy enough.. throw on a little mini skirt, grab ur pom poms.. big difference people!! omg it just annoys me so much

chearleaders say u get so sore and all that crap, like u dont get sore in other sports! they think it is harder to memorize a routine that consistes of spinning around and making ur skirt go up in 3 days or something. my friend use to b a chear leader and she went to a bucnh of competitions.. she taught me 4 of her routines in 2 hours! it is actually harder to memorize all the rules of one sport so u get no penalties. then u have to memorize who to pass the ball.. puck what ever it is u r using to. yes.. u stretch alot at chear leading camp... yes u get sore.. but u do in other sports to!!!! much mnore then at camp.. i should no bc i once went to gymnastics camp.. and i play sports! i hate chearleading so much!it is so much easier than a sport bc its not even a sport.. its dance with little flippy things sometimes.. u dont see basketball players running down the court with a skirt on yelling go team go.. u can do it!" and dancing the whole time.. they r actually colliding into each other.. getting hurt.. and falling.. i just have one thing to say to chearleaders... "WHAT EVER!!"

oh ya and one more thing, go on google or something and look up pics of chearleading.. then at any other real sport.. ull c the difference.. trust me there is one. scott stevens was a very populaer hockey player that gave concussions to ppl. can u name one chearleader that gave concussions to ppl while cheering? no!! unless if she gave a concussion to her self by falling clumsily
