College Away From Home
If you are really close to your family then i suggest being at least no farther than two hours away that way you can go home and see them on th weekends but if you really would rather than you should go wherever you like but you will miss your parents wherever you go. It is definitely worth the trip I promise you!

Can't wait to leave
Im a sophmore in highschool. I know the people in my town now and to be honest I cant wait to leave them. Dont get me wrong I have friends and I love them to death. But people are just annoying and need to grow up. My mom gets on my last nerve I know ill miss her while at college but we wont consistanly be fighting. My sisters in her last year of college shes met the coolest people and had the best time. I cant wait!!

Smarter Starter!
Going away to college is a big deal! You'll be away from your friends and family. But the advantage is when you are older you will be mor sucessfull in life and have a steady family and a good job. When my turn comes to go to college, i think im ready!

AAHH....Freedom!:)
i think its cool going away to college becuz ur free from parents and siblings bothering you and not giving you privacy. but it can be a drag cuz ur gonna miss ur friends and family, so thats why they call it email, and cell phone.

FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!
haha definetly cant wait to get out of my hometown and into the city. its coming up soon and im a bit nervous but more excited
--Posted by xuhadmeathellox

yes:-)!!
yes because i always get into fights with my parents so obviously i would love too and plus it means you go on to do better things in life which is good and than after you're done you make more friends, had the experience of college and have a better chance at getting a better job rather than a high school diploma. the only thing is it's going to be weird from being a senior down to the bottom of the list again and than not being surrounded wiht my friends.

do it!!!
You gotta go sometime. Otherwise you'll become on of the people who live at their parents til they are like 40 and still working at a fast food plave.

Well Yah!
Of course going away to college is cool...it means u have a LIFE and are willing to plan a great and successful future! :)

i would love to, but i can't
i just started university and i had major fights with my parents aboutgoing away for college last year. they said i'm too young to move out (i'm 17), but i really want the whole college experience, like the friends, the parties, etc. the problem is that i already live in a big city and the university is good and they say there is no point in moving away. the only thing that beats staying at college dorms is better food at home.

i mostly like the going away part

Great Opportunity
Personally, as soon as I graduate from high school, I'm out. I'll probably study out-of-state or hopefully, I can study abroad. I'm not too worried about supporting myself because the sleepless nights will be worth the independence escpecially if i know i'm taking care of myself. As far as missing loved ones at home--that's just life and the opportunity to just get away from it all and start fresh might not come again.

Not sure yet.
I think it is alot different when you are in grade 10 basically dreaming of it, than when you suddenly find yourself in grade 12, applying, waiting to get accepted, breaking up with your high school sweeetheart because you are leaving, deciding where you want to go..etc etc. But with all the stress and tears it brings, I sure hope it'll be worth it in the Fall.

Disses

I'm neutral
I think its good to have the independence but from my perspective, its hard taking up a place of your own and taking care of everything else in life. I just say to people "stay young while you still can." When I was in highschool I wanted nothing more than to go away so I can do whatever I want. Now that I'm a freshman in college my views and experiences have changed. I know others on a personal basis who have moved out by the time they were eighteen and regretted it all. Thats not the only reason why I didn't move out. My mom is pretty sick and I can't leave her when she's in the shape she's in. Its the last thing she needs. I don't want to leave my friends or boyfriend either. Its kind of a win/lose situation.

Big dilemma
me, i'll be going off to college this May, 2006.... yes... it's really hard. I don't know if I can make it through.. but what's really bad about it is that in the school I'll be entering, It's the hellest school in my country, and they're known for harassing the students with so much schoolwork. =( I'm scared... and I'll also miss my friends a lot... =(
--Posted by rockstarandie

Pointless
What's the point? It doesn't make you any smarter and a lot of people have made money and not gone to college. I hate school too! Why would I want an extra 4< of schooling?!
--Posted by loi13

BoOoOoO
*well u see for myself its all good but like this year im a freshman in highschool and i have gotten really close to the seniors in my school and it kinda sux saying goodbye to them for good basically so im both ways on it but more dis*

yeah i wanna go to college but its gonna be a tough time cuz im letting go of friends and family! thats just scary! =(
--Posted by krislily129

only w/ friends
I could only do it if my friends came w/ me. Like if we went 2 the same college. I would be ok away from my parents but not my friends.
--Posted by tylerl

in the middle
i dont know. i think would be very hard, but so fun once you got to college! so its a hard choice
--Posted by samiam65325

I would be homesick. And, it would be hard to leave all my friends. The thought of going somewhere new and I don't know anyone, just scares me. It's like starting all over. :/
