i don't think abortion is good, but i think it's essential. women shouldn't be forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy. period. it's their body and their choice.

abortion is not a crime. it is your body, and you decide what to do with it. the baby isnt even born yet, or even that big. the babay could even become a drug dealer when he/she grows up. so what effect on the world is that? especially if you get raped. you now have to keep that baby for something you didnt decide to do? no, i dont think so.

this is just my opinion o abortions so please don't pounce on me: its a shame to see an unborn baby not able to live becuase its mother doesn't want it. but, truth of the matter is to leave that baby on the earth to grow up not knowing it's irresponsible birth mother is a painful thing.but who knows if the baby lives and gets adopted by a good family it could live a nice life. im really confused to say if its wrong or not but if you never wanted a baby than be cautious when having sex. woman should always have an open choice though.

Women should have a right, although you gotta draw the line when the baby is to old.
And to those people with issues, fair enough .....but if you were raped and got pregnant what would you do??? i would get an abortion

I think its a womans choice whether she wants to have an abortion or not. Especially for unplanned pregnancies when the life situation isnt that great why would you want to bring a child into that and make their life living hell.Besides in the first few weeks the thing isn't even human yet..its just a blob.

having a baby is supposed to be a blessing not a consequence of having sex and not allowed to have an abortion. there is also the obvious what if you were raped question .. another good reason of why abortion should be allowed. and lastly, people have the freedom to choose what they want, if you don't like it then keep the child when you're pregnant, don't force your beliefs on someone else

I don't have any problems with abortions. I think if a pregnant woman wants to have one then she should go right ahead and have one. It should be her choice and no one else's. I don't think it's murder to kill off a group cells. The real question for this issue is, "When does life truely begin?" If you think it begins when the sperm meets the egg, or when the mother feels the first kick, you're obviously not going to be for abortion. However, if you believe that life begins when the baby takes it's first breath there's a chance you won't find abortion as cruel as someone else might.

Honestly, all you "omg its murder dont kill babies!!" people really need to sit down and think for a change. Being that the vast majority of pro-choicers aren't bloodstained proteges of Jack the Ripper, we actually have a point. What would you do if you were violently raped, especially if it was incest? Then your baby would be a constant reminder of that horrible occurrence, and it too would be cruelly stigmatized, particularly if it was deformed because of incest. As horribly written as "The Scarlet Letter" was, that book is a perfect example of the traumatic effects that having an unwanted child can put on a woman, in addition to the risk of postpartum depression. Plus, if I had ultrasound and I found out that my baby was going to be severely disabled and would suffer its whole life just to live and rack up thousands in medical expenses, I couldn't bear to live through that or have my child live through that. Roe v. Wade is still legal for a reason, and I think it would be a massive loss to Americans' right of free actions should it be overturned. And one last thought, concerning the harebrained pro-lifer argument that "the baby could've grown up to find a cure for cancer"...how exactly do you know that the baby couldn't have grown up to be a terrorist or murderer, either? Think about that.

So, i've read a lot of the responses under dis it, and its just made me even more angry then I already was.
You all say its murder, and its so bad, but I bet 90% and even more of you eat meat. You kill animals like its nothing, but you think abortion is murder?
I think its pretty immature and stupid what some people have to say about abortion.
Its not up to you to dicide what other people should do with their own bodys, and if a lady wants to get an abortion, it is completely up to her.
What if she was raped? What is she is to weak to have a baby?
If your so worried about not being able to have a baby later in life, then adopt a baby, and stop complaining. If you don't want girls to have abortion, then stop having kids yourself, and adopt all the kids you just "saved" from outlawing it.

It IS legal, and that won't be changing, so I wish people would deal with it and get on with their lives. Abortion can only be done at a certain time during pregnancy, before the baby is even a what you'd call a "baby." Not to mention, I'm sure most of you eat meat. Thats killing animals. Right? Murder. Right? Ok then. Stop worrying so much about other people's decisions, and just focus on your own. Nobody is holding you back from killing animals for food, having freedom of speech, and going to church. So why try to limit someone else's choice? The end.

It's a Gift from God
Most of the people that I know who have had an abortion were not able to have children when they were ready. The baby should not have to suffer for the mistake that the parents made when they laid down.

I don't think abortion is the right answer no matter what the situation is. The child is innocent and deserves a chance at life. There are alternatives if the mother isn't ready or willing to raise the child. Nine months seems like small price to pay if it means another couple can be blessed with the child they are unable to conceive.

I don't like abortions because i think you can give them up for adoption. However, i can see if its going to harm the mom or if the baby is going to have such a low quality of life (really deformed or something) that theres no point. In those cases i think people have to make the choice. But just for getting pregnant at a bad time? I dont think thats right, since there is adoption as an option

Now I know SOME people think that abortion is "right" if the person was raped but u should take away a baby's life because of someone else's mistake?? well let me tell u that really PISSES ME OFF and makes me want to vomit and I pray for those who have an abortion for any reason be it rape, your own will, because the docter says there's ANY complication, anything it's JUST WRONG! and my friend's brother was almost aborted but thank the Lord he wasn't cause his face makes me smile :) And today my religion teacher showed us an abortion movie maybe if you saw if most of you would change your mind 'cause that movie made me cry and realize the BS in our country and around the world..Killing and it's legal!! Because it's a person's right?? I don't think so... BS!! sum1 put in your mind....Now let me breathe im too mad! Let it be known one day Im going scream NO! to abortion like right now... I am totally pro life!! I totally don't believe in killing a helpless baby, rape or otherwise..There are people just dying to have children and can't could adopt your baby, that baby could grow up to be something great! And to those saying it's my body I can do what I want with it, are severely mistaken..It's God's body. Carrying a baby for 9 months would be totally worth giving a family their first baby and seeing the smile on their face. There are plenty of people looking to adopt babies just give the baby a chance. Take your pride somewhere else, And to those who willingly had sex, yes it sux but killing an unwanted baby..thats like sayin' to someone you know hey I really don't want you around so I'm just gonna kill you off..Plus most people who have abortions find it EXTREMELY difficult to have babies once they finally want to...I just find it selfish..doin' everything to please ourselves..well I hope you guys make the right choice in pleasing God! 1-29-07
