I'm not someone who ALWAYS is recycling but, really how can someone be against it? Even if you don't do it all the time, the people who do are helping the environment..which helps you, you know...I don't know I just don't really think it's something that makes any sense to dis..

It seems that most people who are supposedly against recycling are just lazy. Yes it takes longer to rinse out the bottles and cans, seperate things, ect, but are you so lazy as to not even bother? Get off your ass and do something.

I don't see why someone would actually be AGAINST recycling. Its just as easy to throw something in a recycle bin as it is to throw it in the trash.

Recycling is GREAT for the environment.
I don't know WHAT kind of book you were reading in class, engravedinwine, but saying recycling doesn't do anything for the world around us is, well, a big bucket of bullshit. Landfills are very bad for the environment, go look at http:// www.zerowasteamerica.org/ Landfills.htm, for one source. Open your eyes - landfill emissions in the air and water are VERY hazardous. Their liners are a TENTH of an INCH thick, they all leak, allow dangerous chemicals and gasses to pass through, break down, and poison our water, our land, our environment.. ...And guysaremything, you dis recycling because it takes you longer to recycle than to chuck your garbage in the trash? That's selfish, and doesn't make any sense anyway. Your post is stating you'd rather throw away something just to save a few seconds rather than save the environment in the long run. Ouch. serina_diva_xxx, you say 'they shouldnt of messed the world up in the first place'... I don't understand. How does messing up the world beforehand have any relevance to recycling?
I think you all should do some freaking RESEARCH before you mouth off about something so beneficial for the earth. Or at least try to make sense when doing so.

Not real
I'm reading a book in class that says that recycling doesn't really help the environment. It only kind of slows down the destruction of earth. So that's why I'm against it. I'm all for saving the earth, but we should find another way.

I saw an episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! that said recycling is in a lot of places worse than just throwing stuff away because it takes more resources to recycle than simply to make new things (except for aluminum cans, which is why you can sell them), and land fills aren't that hazardous or terrible anyway... watch it and you'll see.
