i think that the death penatly is perfectly right because if somebody is sent tp prison for life, for killing somebody else or whatever, instead of wasting tax money to keep them alive. give them the death penatly. if they are in for life then whats the point they are just going to rot/ die anyway so why not help them along??

i'm torn
i'm gonna go ahead and say i dig it, but i also dis it. it depends on the situation. like with the sniper case a couple years ago here on the east coast of the us of a, they definitely deserved the death penalty. on the other hand, the death penalty is so final, that they need to be 100% sure that the person is guilty. i'm for it and a against it.

Well, i think that if someone deserves it they should get it. If someone murdered on person then they should just get jail time. But if they murder like 10 people then the definetly should.

I just think they should be completely sure before they actually execute someone, and they shouldn't make it painless for people getting execuited, I mean hell, the murderer didn't make it paionless for their victim. I also don't think there should be that whole age limit thing, like, if a 10 year old kills someone and knows what they're doing, they should get the death penalty...or maybe I'm just being brutal...hmm

Its hard to say. because if you accuse the wrong person, and put them to death, then what happens? you just killed the WRONG person. I undestand what they mean by saying " if you kill someoen you should have to die too" but thats not always the case. I think everyone has a right to live, and everyone makes mistakes. But if the person have killed many people and are proud of what they did, to hell with them! they can die. To conclue, I DIS it. And DIG it. So ill pick Dis because i have more reasons for that one.

It's stupid to kill a killer quickly when he probably made his victim suffer horrorable and he gets the right 2 a quick death? Ending life in any circumstance is wrong becaue we don't create it or have the right to destroy it.

Pointless and Cruel
First of all, it is NOT a deterrent because hello, the death penalty has been in use for centuries and hello, people are STILL KILLING. Second of all, if you murder my whole family with a chainsaw, where's the justice in you getting some little needle in your arm? Won't my family still be dead? And no, I won't feel any sense of justice, because another person has died all in the name of "justice". Third of all, two wrongs do NOT make a right. How can the government condemn killing, only to go on and kill others?

How is killing someone who killed someone helping the situation. How is it solving anything. Killing the person who killed someone does not bring the person who is dead back. It only makes you think you're going to feel better whe in truth you don't. How is killing a person show that killing is wrong? it hypocracy!

if someone kills somebody else their form of punishment shouldn't be to get killed in return. you can't persecute a person for the same thing that you do. No one has the right to take another's life.

People support the death penalty because they say it helps the family of someone who has been killed. I disagree but then again I havent been placed in that position. If we are killing people because they killed someone else, then those who perform the killing of the criminal should be placed in the same situation for they are commiting murder themselves.

So what you are saying is "they kiled someone, so I kill them?" Isn't there something wrong there? You are just hurting more people, like the family. How can we say something is wrong but do it? Give a chance to make amends.

No Way!!
Ok, if you believe that a murder has killed some1 so they desevre to die... well wouldnt that mean every body hwho fought in a war and shot some one should die too? We learnt as children that fighting fire with fire was bad yet we have the death penelty... does that make sense? Also if you believe it scares people out of doing a crime this is not true either! I live in australia and our crime rate is ALOT lower the USA's (this might also be because of us not having legalized guns so we cant just buy one down in our corner shop). I believe it is completely immoral and should be stopped!
