Who cares???
In my opinion, if you dont believe there is a god or a supernatural thingy beyond us, then you're probably just as right as everyone else. I used to be an athiest, but now I think there may be a possibility so I'm agnostic. I dont see why people always criticize athiests and agnostics for not believing in something that might not be there at all. --Posted by skitzose7en

take a breather..
first off, bfore you read this, i just wanna say that i'm a catholic. so now you're thinking why do i support athiesm? well..in christianity an other major religions it's taught that you should love and respect others, not hate them for their different beliefs. if we were all christians, if we were all holing the same beliefs, what fun would the world be? athiesm is just a belief for some people. after all, there is no proof of God exsisting. sure, the bible and stuff may be considered proof, but it's still possible that some really creative person made it all up. christains have no solid proof of God being present, but we believe in him because we have faith. atheists are just people who don't believe in God, and it is understandable when there is no solid evidence. so don't hate them, appreciate them for being able to see the world in a diffrent angle. and by the way, before you start firing off that i'm not a "real" christian, i'm not one of those easter/christmas catholics, i go to church twice a week, i pray everyday, and i attend confession once a month. --Posted by rainydayzedjade

I am in the middle of the two!!!
I personally believe in God but my sister is an atheist and I am fine with it! I think that religion and beliefs are totally upto the person! Why should people care what other peoples' beliefs are? I say do your thing even if someone else is against it! --Posted by ryanroxs
I was a Catholic
Hey, I have been raised a Catholic and was always a model student in my Sunday School classes. I could answer whatever question the teacher asked me. I was always bothered, though, by the fact that my many friends of different cultures and religions who were good people could not go to heaven. That led me to question many things in life, and finally I realized I never believed what I had learned in church. I go to church every week still, because my parents tell me I must or they will disown me, but I don't pray. Why? I don't believe in God. And I am tired of people asking why not. You have to have a reason TO believe things; there is no need to have a reason to not believe something. It all has to do with your heart and mind. I really do support religion, though. I think it is wonderful that some people have something/someone to turn to :-) --Posted by allknowingbeth
Christian
I'm a Christain.. and i have a very strong faith in God.. so y do i say dig it?? simple.. everyone is intitled to their OWN belief.. if they choose not to believe in God, that's their choice, im not going to try and change their minds... thats pushing religion, which i hate.. also, it doenst affect ur beliefs... so to all the atheists out there... u guys are NO lesser then Christians, even though a lot think theyre more superior, though theyre not, seeing as 2 of my friends are atheist as of now.. --Posted by hopeless2010
i know that i am a christian but if you dont want to believe in god you dont have to . if you want to get in heaven than just do good deeds or something. My best friend is one and i dont stopp hangin out ith him. --Posted by ksaw130
whats with christianity? it sucks!
i dont believe in any thing expect we live then we die. i am a good person i am nice and i respect others so why should i go to hell - well my christian freinds say that i am because i dont believe in god or jesus being a savior or the garden of eden or that animals dont have souls and can be killed
if there is life after death then it will be as good as i deserve and i guess if im going to hell then HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE
we should all be veggies like me but it ur decision!

everyone should be able to do their own thing
Over the years I have become a person who analyses everything. I would like to have someone to turn to when the going gets tough, but i cant force my self to believe in god when I have already put too much thought into it. I choose to have my own philosophy on life rather than to get it all from a doctrine peice of literature. I am a little hipocritical as well for i believe in the paranormal stuff like ghosts and faeries...i believe in magic..but ive got first hand proof in the paranormal department...and besides the fact that i cant force my self to believe in god..i also dont want to be a follower of god. everytime i would go to church and look at all of the people praying, they looked like they were begging...the whole worshipping thing made me feel inferior. what i believe in is equality. "devine" and human alike, i just see no reason in worshipping something that looks at you as a lower being. But, i have nothing against other people believeing in god, so what i think is that everyone should do what ever they want religiously to make themselves happy and to not care about what other people are doing with their faith...stick to your own path...if your a church goer...great. if your an athiest, great. Other peoples faith doesnt...or atleast, shouldnt affect your faith in any way so let people believe what they want to believe. --Posted by dietmonkey

Get to know me.
I'm an atheist, and I'm just fine as a person. I get along with most people, and I have very strong morals and values. Even my boyfriend's family, who are all Christians, like me very much. Like I said in another post, I'm living proof that religion is unnecessary. Just remember: wars are never started by atheists. --Posted by Sporkatronic

It's fine
Some people may not agree with atheism, but you could atleast respect it. Some people are going to be non-believers whether you like it or not. So just take a deep breath and deal with it, ok?
And like Sporkatronic said, wars are never started by atheists.

ii think people should be able to do and believe what they want and that no-one has the right to force anyone into anthing! --Posted by pornstar

I'm a Christain
Yeah I'm Christain, so why am I saying dig it. Because everyone has a right to chose what religion they are. I think evryone should just stop criticizing another persons religion, cause it dosen't make them a bad person! --Posted by goth_angel_0209
It a choice
It's a choice to be atheist. It's not that they don't have value systems, it's just that they don't believe that there's one "person" controling us all. It's a personal belief. There's really no way to change that. --Posted by scarr

I'm one
As an agnostic atheist myself (I'm fairly convinced that there's no higher power, but I think that it can't be proven either way), I'm completely in favor of atheism. Some of us just don't see why a supernatural being is at all logical or reasonable. Plus, I think everyone should have a choice when it comes to their religion, or lack thereof. That's not to say I have anything wrong with religious people, just I think atheism is a perfectly acceptable thing. --Posted by affle

Um, No.
I myself, am an atheist. I respect other religions and quite frankly, I'm shocked to find people "dissin'" anti-theism.The constitution protects our right to NOT believe. And to "the girl 1893" when a cancer patient is cured, it is NOT a miracle. It's a success in curing them. And if incest is wrong, then how come Adam fornicated with his sister? --Posted by asktheidiot

how can you NOT believe in God?
I do respect your atheist opinion, but I gotta ask you this: How does a terminal cancer patient get cured all of the sudden? A miracle, right? Well, who does it? Barely ever happens, but there are a few TRUE stories that it did happen. So, explain me that. Then, I will consider the fact that God may not exist. --Posted by the_girl_1893

hum....
well, i don't exactly dis atheism, i believe that you do have the right to believe whatever you feel is right, even if that means you believe in nothing but yourself. however, i am a christian, and i'm amazed at how someone could go through life without knowing god...he loves each and every one of you...as do i, and it breaks my heart that you don't know jesus, my lord...it's like...you work hard all of your life, just to die in the end, where if your a christian...you work hard in your life for the most amazing reward you can imagine--you get to live with god, in heavan...its just so amazing what god can do for you. don't get me wrong, i struggle with my doubts as much as anyone...but when i look into a babys face, or watch the ashes of a fire glow, or go on a walk on a chilly fall day...it amazes me how beautiful god made this place. if you feel lost, or afraid, feel the need of something more...i garuntee your looking for jesus, and that god is working in your heart...he sacrificed his son for you...lemme put that into perspective...a man is in a lifeboat...to his left, is thousands of men, screaming out for mercy from him, and to his right...his son. guess who he saves...thats right. god saved everyone, none of us deserve it, but he saved us. we've spit on his love, time and time again, and he saved us, and sent his SON to die. if one person reads this and thinks...she's talking to me...then my work is complete. god bless
1 timothy 4:12 let no one look down on you because you are young, but be an example to believers in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.

Lost
I feel very sorry for the people who have anger in them to defy any higher power. I am christian, and so it's my belief that Jesus died on te cross to save our souls in eternity and there is more proof of that then there is of Alexander the Great. --Posted by eliasophia

it's impossible
how can you not believe in a higher power? it doesn't seem all that easy....Even if you don't believe in the Christian God you should still believe in some sort of higher power. Agnostic for example. --Posted by ariadne_witch

?
Most of the atheists I know believe in the devil, but not god. I don't see how they can do that and not feel that they're getting it wrong. Im not trying to tell anyone what religion they should be or what to believe in, but, really, how can you think that there is a DEVIL but no GOD? Everything comes in pairs, male &female, right &wrong, good &bad, the Devil &God? Common sense tells you that there IS a God; or at least a higher power. --Posted by KarliRocks

huh?
Atheism is defined as a lack of religion. No one is, or probably ever will be a true atheist. It's just impossible. Even the people who call themselves atheist will admit that the have some sort of beliefs system, even if it's one they made up themselves. And take a wild guess what you call an organized beliefs system. Religion! --Posted by wowshiny

wat!?
how could u not beleive in a higher power!? maybe not god but come on no one? i find it alittle hard to beleive. --Posted by prettyhaydengur
I am sad for the people that are atheist because they won't get to go to heaven because in order to be saved you have to believe in God and Jesus Christ who died for our sins. That being said, to not believe in Him is I feel a type of disrespect. Of course on a bigger level and stuff. I would say more but I am not quite sure if I would get my point off right. I have read some of the girls view of God in the "Oh God" section on this website and I got frustrated because it felt like they completely missed what God is about. --Posted by randomgrl1357

Yes, why? JESUS is our homeboy!
That's why it's called faith; believing even though you can't see it. Im not here to put down anyone, but all I know is that I believe in God, and that in my own personal beliefs, I believe that it's better to believe in something, than nothing at all. --Posted by noire
A correction
ariadne_witch:
An agnostic does not neccesarily believe in a higher power; you are thinking of a deist, which is someone who believes in God but not any particular religion. An agnostic asserts that there is no proof that a god exists or does not.
Atheists have to have faith that there isn't a god, just like someone who believes in a god has to have faith that there is. I choose to acknowledge the possibility of a god without believing that there is a god. --Posted by agnosticagnes

How can you not have a God?
people who belive that are the best thing in the world are selfish, weird, and snobby. darwin is weird. --Posted by kacbacya1015

Life not knowing God?
Well I must say 1st of all...that I respect people's different beliefs as MANY has said before ..i mean we r different people but that's wut makes us the same. Well I'm from Jamaica and trust me..the island is SMALLLLL (which many kno) but if it's 1 thing we MUST have is a church. 99.9% of the Jamaicanz here are Christians or believe in Gd or something...either that or they KNOW God and just don't believe in Him. I honestly don't kno any Jamaican that DOES NOT believe in God...sure I don't kno everyone but u get the point. But straying away from that point now...I'm a young Christian, baptized and all and I DO believe in Gos strongly..I call myself a Jamrocker thugh because I LOVE rock music but people keep saying it's demonic and that scares me 2 death but at the same time I'm a Christian of faith u kno. I don't want 2 be a Christian knowin i listen 2 the "devil's music" so in my point of view...i think we shud all jus listen 2 OUR HEARTS and that will determine which path we walk on. I listened 2 mine and it told me i can listen 2 punk music but if i get the 'slightest' feeling that a song I'm listening 2 is poisining my mind wiht any demonic lyrics then I just stop the song and go 2 another. Hope this will help others that r in between wut 2 believe also. --Posted by whiteroze

Be respectful.
I'm not religous in any way and I agree with aetiests in some respects, but a lot of them are rude to people who have religious beleifs. Just because someone chooses to beleive in a higher power does not make them stupid. Plus the existence of a god can neither be confirmed nor denied, so not beleiving in god is also a leap of faith. --Posted by dandydevildog

I Believe In A Godhead
Now, I believe 100% that God is the answer to this question, But I do believe, everyone is intitaled to their own opinion. I mean, how are you positive you are right? It's by grace we have been saved through faith, and yet not of ourselves, it is the gift of God.
Everyone wants to believe what they believe, and if you are judging them on their opinion, then that shows you aren't the Christian you say you are.
And someone who is catholic said that they don't believe in God, so therefor, its a religion title not a relationship --Posted by hamzitup
if you are a athiest..
you say you dont believe there is a god. but really you are putting yourself as god. and a human as god is humanism. --Posted by kannon
