I Know Someone Who Works For Animal Testing
My sister is finding a cure for cancer. Yeah thats right guys. Your so upset about an ugly rat that is bieng tested on when millions of people are dying of a painful disease. I love animals but I would much rather people like my aunt, who has breast cancer to be alive than some rat.

i dont personally have a problem with it they dont use animals that are endangered... the mostly use rats and rabbits, not exactly rare animals, but we could find cures for all sorts of diseases.. like HIV or cancer

i agree with iloveradiohead. some animal testing can save not just one but if it is sucessful, it could save many ppl.i dont know about you, but id rather have 10 million ppl live than one little mouse( an animal that reproduces quickly)

It Depends
Animal testing is not always wrong. Testing something that isn't a necessity, such as cosmetics, on an animal is. But testing something such as a drug that could potentially save the lives of many humans is not. I don't know about you, but I value the life of a human more than I value the life of a lab rat.

this is a difficult decision. i mean it is wrong to use animals to test makeup, hair products etc. but when we use animal testing to find a cure for cancer, aids etc., animal testing becomes useful. im not saying its right but when i see my friend who lived another two years because of a medication that was tested on animals, i think of how animal testing helped her so much, not how i wish the animal lived.

I dis testing for cigarettes and drugs, but I am WAY for testing for medical reasons! Would you rather they just test on you? Or how about they just ship the medication out without testing? So what if the entire population on the drug dies? At least the animals didn't get hurt!

I also see life.
This is the way i see it, animal testing is cruel to test out new lipstick, but neccesary for medical purposes. If they have a new medicine that mite cure cancer, or AIDS, or anything else that they dont have a cure for (there are thousands of fatal, incurable diseases), then test it on a mice that would most likely otherwise be killed by a mousetrap. I like animals, but i like humans more. I would rather see a mouse, who cant consciously think about wut is being done to him, than a human be tested on or even die from a disease because they dont have proper resources to test the medicine that could cure him, because he can tell himself, i am going to die from cancer, or this medicine they paid me $200 to test has made my teeth fall out. I will give it to you, putting blush on a rabbit to see if it will die or not, or if its face will swell up, is barbaric and inhuman. If your putting ingredients in your product that may cause negative side effects then maybe u should choose differnt ingredients.

I totally agree with it
Now, I agree with animal testing, medical reaspns mostly. Would you rather loose a rat or loose your friend? They had human testing for some drug a few weeks back here (U.K) and most of the subjects went into comas. Some haven't woken up yet. If the drug was tested on animals first then these people would still be ok.
However, the way some of the animals are *treated* in between the tests is horrible. That is the bit that should be addressed. Beating animals is not right. But I do think animal testing should continue.

BUT.... people need to be able to test medicine and treatments that might one day CURE CANCER. or THE FLU. things people DIE FROM EVERYDAY because we can't find a cure. THINK ABOUT IT. you get cancer. it is a new type and there is NO KNOWN CURE OR TREATMENT. would you like to try a drug that HAS NEVER BEEN TESTED BEFORE AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE. or would you like to try a drug that we KNOW doesn't have any longterm side effects?

It depends what the animal is being tested for. I mean if the testing is completley pointless like makeup testing then no it's totally wrong.
However, if it's testing on a group of rats to try and find a cure for cancer then I'm all for it. One in 3 people will get cancer at some point in there lives. If you get it and there's a cure are you gonna be all upset about the rat who died for you?

Hypocracy
I am against animal testing for cosmetics, but for animal testing for medical research as long as it is done morally - i.e. no animal testing until the end of testing of a new medicine, no testing anyhting on animals you know will kill them just to see if it will in fact kill them. I think there are far too many hypocrites though, I mean look at how many people are here syaing animal testing is bad, yet how many of you here still wear make-up, buy products from P&G like Pringles, Tampax, Sunny D - P&G are the WORST for horribly cruel animal testing, I find it disgusting that people can say animal testing is bad, but then still support it in such a big way.

We are animals.
Let's not forget that we are animals. I don't see people testing stuff that may harm us on us. Yea, some animals are being tested for cancer medicine and all, and that's all right, but testing hair products on animals is plain ridiculous!! I mean, come on! If you want a new hair product so badly, go be the animal its tested on. Animals have feelings too, and I am sure they feel ridiculous when they have make up on them.

Its not right! just think if you didnt adopt that cat or dog the next day it could have been loaded with 10 differnt drugs and thrown away to die for the next one. Its inhumane I tell you.

I think Animal Testing is one of the most disturbing things out there. It's not right to do things to animals that could turn out harmful for them just because we want to make sure its safe for humans. If say dogs were the dominant species, NOT humans, would we want them testing their chemicals on us? NO. We wouldn't. So how can we force other creatures to do something we wouldn't be willing to do ourselves?

I think animal testing is very cruel and mean to all animals endangered or not! Animals have feelings and lives just like us and they don't need to be killed just for testing. Scientists need to uses other testing like a donated human body instead of a live animal!

Im a animal lover, and I can not stand the thought of someone testing on animals, I refuse to buy poducts that have been tested on animals.Its horrible! They have spirits do I dont care what you F**ekrs think.
