1. Tongue piercings barely hurt at all when you get them.
2. The chance of it getting infected is quite low, because saliva battles bacteria.
3. Instances when a freshly pierced tongue swells so large that the owner chokes are extremely rare.
4. One can only catch brief, occasional flashes of a tongue ring when engaging in everyday conversation.
Tongue piercings done well with a needle are actually much more easy to heal and are safer than the standard earlobe piercings at the mall with a gun. However, if you choose to get a tongue piercing (or any piercing, for that matter), choose a professional, reputable piercing parlor, preferably one approved by the APP (Association of Professional Piercers).

Let people choose whether or not to pierce a hole in their tongue, if it makes them happy- let them. If I told you not to wear your favorite outfit in the world, due to the fact that I hated it, does that mean you should stop wearing it?
I personally would never get one. Ever. I've heard too many bad stories of infections, but let the piercees be, ok?

I know people with toungue piercings and thats cool but for my own self i ouldn't pierce ny toungue cuz even though i love most peircings, i agree with certain belief systems that your toungue is in connection with your heart wich makes it dangerous, also the toungue just seems on a more practical level, like a really vulnerable easily infected place. I realize What i have to say soundds like total bull-shit but i dont care what you think or if anyone gets a toungue piercing fine. I just dont wanna

Don't know one person who in their right mind with any common sense would want one. They're unattractive, can't keep your eyes off them, and it's really nasty when someone plays with it on their lips and such. Nope, I have better ways of expressing who I am besides sticking a small metal rod though my tounge ;)

ewww i think they are kind of gross. they can lead to a lot of infections, and it's probably really sore and hard to eat for a while. plus, it does't look that attractive in my opinion. id suggest getting a double piercing in your ear or a stud in your nose.

they wouldn't really fit with my style, but honestly I don't really think that they look that good on girls. and i've rarely seen guys pull them off. they can be dangerous, and while i've heard they eventually stop bothering you, braces were enough metal in my mouth, thank you very much. i just don't think it's the best look.

I picked dis cuz..i think that kissing is more limited than it is "suposed" to B enhanced,but ppl who have them go for it! Just keep them clean and healthly and do something else with the tongue while kissing besides flicking. I think there should be an N B Tween < > on here.
