well, 4 me i don't say "highlights" what we call it is called a "rinse" where u can pick from different kinds of cool colors n it doesn't harm your head at all. it only comes out when u wash it out

as a kid i had natural blonde highlights over my dirty blonde hair... then i freaked it all out by dying it dark dark dark brown. now it's dirty blonde/light brown with platinum streaks .. couldn't be happier with it :)

i have blonde and light brown highlights in my dark brown hair. i like them and i love how they look but my hair did get dryer and i had a lot more split ends which is what i didn't like, also it looks bad when it grows out. but otherwise i like them.

Disgusting & Cliche
I used to have highlights in my early junior high years. I was like the only one with highlights, & yeah no one cared. Then next year they totally boom in & everyone's loving it. So, TOO CLICHE. If you're highlighting your hair light brown, yeah, stop & think again! Cliche & half the girls I knwo who do this are- excuse my french, SLUTS. Stray away from this.. please..

trust me i had them before!
i just got rid of my highlights...here's why first of all the highlights grow out so you have to keep up with getting them done every 2 months or something...then each time you highlight your hair the color gradually gets lighter....my highlights became so prominent and made my hair dull that i got my whole head dyed back to its natural color (pretty darn close to it at least)...unless you want to deal with the upkeep and extra split ends along with dull hair..go ahead! but as for me i'm proud of my natural hair...you can get natural highlights easily with lemon juice and then go out in the sun for a few hours.

it looks nasty and fake. if you do get them, at least make it natural looking, natural is way more beautiful than fake. plus messing with your hair a lot makes it damaged and nasty. mine damaged from straightening it everyday for 2 years, i stopped because it ruined it.

I got highlights and they were cool, for a bit. But now I've decided just to let the color grow out. With everyone highlighting their hair nowadays there's really nothing you can do that won't make you look like another girl. I think I just want to completely dye my hair later on in life.

Meh...
I'm kind of undecided.I think it looks like crap when people get stupid colors like green and pink and purple.If you get something that goes naturally with your hair,it can look good.For example,I have light/medium brown hair,so if I was to get lighter brown highlights,it should look natural.But I really hate it when girls with dark hair get chunky blonde highlights.It looks disgusting and horrible.

i got highlights one time but then after i got mine every one got them it made me so mad because i like to be different and thats why i did it then everyone els had to get them so i dyed it back!!
