how do you feel about this peta ad that focuses on body image?

a billboard ad for PETA, copyright 2002.

PETA is known for its controversial skin baring campaigns. In this ad they focus on bodies again--but this time it's a guy's big gut on display and not a near-naked, nubile woman. Is this ad a funny, clever way to get their anti-meat message across? Or does it feed the insecurities of a weight-obsessed culture? Both?

haha.. hmmm.. maybe they are refering to people overweight with health problems and are looking for ways to loose weight other than having to buy miracle pills, clothes, non-efford workout machines, etc. And being veg just might be the answer they're looking for. Could happen! but remember it's just an add :D I mean what add REALLY tells the truth when they're trying to sell us something?? None! ...And u have to give them credit cause being veg will not nessesarily make them win cash...But this is just another opinion :P.. ciao!

peta sucks monkey balls...now thats a pun!
Peta is way over the top. In a town nearby, they put up a bilboard of a dog with a fish hook in its lip that said, "you wouldn't do this to a dog. Why do it to a fish?" It's nuckin' futs, man... plus, they gave a whole bunch of kids a very graphic comic book titled "your mommy kills animals' w/ a meniacle woman stabing a live bunny & blood everywhere. It really puts them to shame......

    PETA is crazy
I am a former vegetarian (I stopped because I was traveling to Africa). This add is ridiculous. There are plenty of fat vegetarians.

My eloquent predecessors have accurately summed up my feelings on the matter. PETA is hardly credible, and this ad is stale and meaningless.
