clips about clips: what's the story?

IMAGES. They stare at us from TV, ads, movies, billboards. But how much attention do we pay? Clips about clips is your chance to zoom in close on some of the pictures that surround you every day. What are they really trying to say?

Tell us your random or not-so-random thoughts on our media-driven, image-heavy culture. OR: select a clip from the menu above and dig in.

    People are trying to hard
they're saying you have to be a certain way and if your not... well your never gonna be a star or your not gonna be popular or your not going to be happy..not true..people that dont have enough confidence of their own and try to mock the skrawny models that starve themselves and develope eating disorders or the girls that are seen as "sexy" that have huge porn star breast and had to have surgery to be made that way...when it comes to these clips you have an opinion about the person in the pic and you judge yourself by the clips.......by the way you can do just about anything with a computer now and half of it is fake or edited anyway dont judge yourself based on them...or by anyone else.

    It's gross
I think that it's really disgusting and demeaning that people want woman to be SO insanely thin! I mean take it or leave it..but DO NOT try and change it! Seriously...Woman shouldn't EVER apologized for having curves and being a woman. You should never say, "sorry, but this is me!" Simply say, "THIS IS ME! DEAL WITH IT! CUZ IT AIN'T MY PROBLEM! IT'S YOURS!!" A wise, wise woman once said, "Never apologized for being a woman or for being yourself." --And I live by that!

    This sells?
It seems to me these ads are saying,"BE THIN AND FLAUNT YOUR SKIN! PEOPLE WILL LOVE YOU THEN, AND WILL GIVE YOU THE LOADS OF ATTENTION THAT YOU HAVE BEEN LONGING FOR! LOSE WEIGHT YOU FAT SACK OF CRAP!" And, it does amaze me at the fact that girls [and guys] STILL do listen to these advertisers. It's such a shame to see kids trying to be something they're not, to the extreme of self-loathing and low esteem, that it's THAT impressionable on people. I think that's because people are used to living in the mindset of COMPARING themselves to those whom they think are, "Better," than they are, rather than looking at themselves and all their positive qualities and thinking, "Even though I may be this, I am that and I love myself completely." Again... what a shame... Really. :/

    I have to admit
we all get a bit obsessed about our bodies and our "image" including myself... life and people get you down as well as ads on the tv and in magazines but we all just have to believe in ourselves because no one is going to believe in you unless you believe in yourself first... we are all beautiful in our own ways not just on the outside and as cliche as it all may sound its true

The world is a strange place
god I hate these advertisements... i mean yeah, "you have a boyfriend, good for you, now if you don't mind could you please stop posing together half naked and get on with your lives..." but it's not just that, i can see why they choose theses people, i mean they are good looking, but they're just there to sell the product, it's their job; not to mention after a while they all look the same. i prefer real people, you won't see certain facial structures cause they are considered "ugly"... i find that BS. Same for the really thing models.. can we have some meat on those bones please? I've been squishy (pudgy) all my life and when i look at these girls i think, i an break them! It's really times like these you miss curves... pity
